Swedish term or phrase: Mellanortskabel
I haven't encountered the term Mellanortskabel (MOK) before and now it turns up twice in a railway network document. I know that this is a communication cable of some kind, but I've failed to find a translation and the customer has not been able to help. Here's hoping someone can help me out.

"Mellanortskabel avser samtliga sammanhängande kopparkablar som tidigare kallades MOK eller linjekablar"

Copper cabling
Explanation:
This refers to the generally obsolescent copper wire networks which telecoms users (e.g telephone companies, railways, military) built up over the years and which are now being augmented and replaced by fibre cables. In Sweden, the longer wider networks were called "Mellanortsnät" (intercity nets?) but in anglophone countries, names like "backbone network" "general twisted pair copper network" "interconnectors" are used.
It is thus difficut to translate directly

Thanks Michael! The project manager involved has since suggested distribution cable, but I'll propose this as an equally suitable alternative.
