Vielleicht hilft das:

Prinzipiell ist es möglich eine Weiche in beide Richtungen zu befahren. Das Befahren der Weiche vom Weichenende zum Weichenanfang, also vom Herzstück weg, wird als „stumpf befahren“ bezeichnet. In umgekehrter Richtung spricht man von „spitz befahren“.

Motväxel = spitz befahrene/spitzbefahrene Weiche
Medväxel = stumpf befahrene/stumpfbefahrene Weiche
