saint Explanation: "hidr" is not Turkish. I believe Arabic translation is "saint". In this context it might be just the name of the girl in the room. Though for this to be the case, there should be a comma after "denen". |

Al-Khidr / deus ex machina / St. George Explanation: "An immortal person Muslims believe to come in time of need." One of the "d" letters in Arabic is a vibrating "d" therefore the same name was transliterated into Turkish as Hızır as well. hiding room Explanation: Buradaki hıdr ne hz. Hızır nede kutsal bir şey. Sadece cahiliye döneminden kalma bazı genç kızların erkeklerden saklandıkları küçük oda manasını taşıyor. "Hıdr" means hiding cell (room) which virgin girls hide themselves in that cell from seeing men or being seen by men |
