Hi, all,
This is hardly related to translation, but I couldn't think of a better source of information than you, Indian translators.
A very dear friend of mine is very interested in a master's degree in Hindu philosophy in India. Can you tell me some inside info, such as programs offered by universities, if any, or links to sites of interest?
Anything will do: links, addresses, universities, program details, etc.
Thank you so much to you all,
Dan

Hi Dan,

Please find below some links... I'm not sure about Hindu philosophy at Delhi University but it had a department of buddhist studies. Here's the link to the Arts Faculty:

you can check it out.

But I think, you may find the Department of Sanskrit interesting:

Alternatively, check out the BHU (Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India)
http://www.bhu.ac.in/svdv/departments.html

I hope this information is of some help.

Best regards,

Ritu Bhanot

P.S.: I think BHU link is more interesting for you. Especially the Vaidic Darshan part because vaidic Darshan (or Vedic Philosophy) is the basis of Hindu philosophy.

You may enquire from a few universities/deemed universities about the course as I am not sure whether they offer M.A. in Hindu Philosophy exclusively or it is included among other philosophies under the subject. Whatever, they certainly will advise you a better way.

For reading and knowing about the subject informally, I am sure you would find many links if you do google search with the terms “Rishikesh” and “Haridwar”. These are famous Hindu pilgrimage centres where a lot of societies, saints, etc. are engaged in teaching about Hinduism.
