Since I've started working as a freelancer, there are three principles that have stood out most: availability, reliability and quality. I'm often working late nights and on weekends when most other freelancers aren't available, and I make a point of accommodating tight schedules to help out my regular clients. I always look at the source text before I give my word, to ensure that I know what I'm writing about and will be able to deliver in time, and I'm always ready to put in the extra effort to guarantee full satisfaction.

Although I only possess a secondary school diploma, I studied Languages in college for two years before dropping out to begin my first job as an in-house translator. Through this program and the advanced language classes I took in secondary school, my mastery of French and English grew beyond that of most students my age and I learned the basics of Spanish and German. I was always considered a reference regarding grammar and spelling and I am known for pointing out every spelling mistake I come across, even spotting errors that native speakers let slip. Thanks to my hands-on experience and my ability to adapt, I never felt like it was necessary to go back to school.

I have several fields of interest, from music and visual arts to literature, technology and video games, and I love learning about virtually any subject. I read everything I come across out of curiosity, and that has helped me adapt to subjects I was less familiar with. I also have experience with developing websites and working on a variety of Internet-based projects, which can be a useful asset for modern translation. I'm not afraid to edit XML directly or get used to a new interface, and I understand the challenges involved in building and maintaining multilingual platforms. I specialize in technology (primarily websites, software and video games) and regularly translate general marketing and management content. I often volunteer for free/open-source projects and non-profit organizations.
