Source text - English Shaft end sizes will be designed to match the existing compressor shaft ends to accommodate the reuse of the existing coupling and lube oil pump drive gear.
Since the shaft power is limited to that of the existing driver, GE has assumed but not verified that the existing shaft end designs are adequate for the application. We cannot at this time confirm that the existing shaft ends are compliant with current API 617 or 671 standards.
SPP has specified that the existing coupling and lube oil pump drive assemblies are to be reused. Since the shaft power is limited to that of the existing driver, GE has assumed but not verified that the existing coupling and lube oil pump drive gear assemblies are adequate for the application.
Since the existing motor driver is a synchronous motor, GE will perform a transient torsional analysis of the compressor train to confirm the adequate torsional frequency separation margins and shaft end life assessment. The Rise of the Fifth Rail is not a distinctly American phenomenon.
As I noted last week from my visit to Argentina, the relationship between the rail union and the trucking union has been so bad that political assassinations are a growing problem. On April 19, the former president of one of the Argentine rail unions (Unión Ferroviaria), was to 15 years in prison for murdering a member of the country's left-wing Workers Party.
It is the rise of corporate influence with expanded government influence over private sectors that is the hallmark of corporatism and fascism, a dangerous economic system that stifles innovation and competition, and drives massive divides between the richest and the poorest in a society.
If American companies were honest about their commitment to competition, innovation, and engaging in the true American Dream, then they would stop attempting to buy influence in an attempt to hurt the competition. The American standard of living relies on companies to engage in true competition, a driver of innovation, better products at lower prices, and greater commitment to customers. Competitive lobbying practices rot that standard from the inside.
We see on a regular basis what happens when a company has little market competition.
They aren't held accountable, and as a result, they are able to deny customers the service they expect and deserve.
Putting an end to this rot is something that is long overdue in Washington.

Vznik piateho princípu nie je čisto americkým fenoménom.

Zodpovednosť sa stráca a výsledkom je že odopierajú zákazníkom služby, ktoré si zaslúžia a očakávajú.
Washington mal už dávno ukončiť tento rozkladný proces.

Source text - English Monitoring systems for the detection of loose parts are mandatory for the primary circuit of power plants. The applied measuring principles have been adopted for GT-KUES:
When loose or loosened parts hit the surface of a structure, for example nuts in vessels or pipes, burst-type structure-borne sound signals are generated. The signals spread throughout the entire structure with sound velocity and can be detected by accelerometers, which are e.g. mounted to the structure. Background noise of normal power plant operation generally superimposes the burst signals. Such background noise is classified as a stochastic signal with a mostly constant RMS value.
Basic research carried out for GT-KUES from 2000 to 2002 has disclosed that a similar method can be used for gas turbines to detect the impact of tiles which have loosened inside the combustion chamber and hit the inside of the combustion chamber’s outer shell and the turbine guide vanes. Due to loud background noise present during turbine operation, the basic method had to be improved:
The results of the basic research carried out from 2000 to 2002 can be summarized as follows:
• To a certain extent, the tile impact follows the laws of an elastic impact which generates a high acoustic burst-type structure-borne sound signal between 30 and 150 g in a frequency range of up to 20 kHz and more.
• A special GT-KUES algorithm was developed, which ensures a sensitive detection of these burst signals, even if the operational background noise is up to 30 dB higher than the burst signal itself. The algorithm starts with a frequency analysis (frequency range f = 0 to 20 kHz, time window of FFT dt = 25 msec) in short time intervals of approx. 3 msec. Next, the value of every frequency line of the previously calculated spectra is standardized with its corresponding average value Mi and the variance and a special GT-KUES characteristic value Ki(t) is generated for every time window. The average values Mi for every frequency line i are calculated as floating values for the past approx. 3 sec. This algorithm is continuously implemented “online” by signal processors (DSP) integrated in the AU for each of the eight acceleration signals (for further details, see chapter 4.2.9). Ki(t) thus represents a parameter which describes the intensity of the sought burst signal extracted from the background noise.
• For the monitoring task, six accelerometers are mounted to the guide vane carrier and two accelerometers to the outer shell of the combustion chamber (one at top and bottom each). The sensor signals are processed by the charge amplifiers, digitized by an A/D converter and then transferred to a DSP board which carries out the necessary online calculations in the frequency and time range for all eight channels.

Signály sa šíria celou konštrukciou rýchlosťou zvuku a môžu byť detekované akcelerometrami, ktoré sú napr. umiestnené na konštrukcii. Šum pozadia pri normálnej prevádzke elektrárne všeobecne prekrýva praskavé nespojité signály. Takýto šum pozadia je klasifikovaný ako stochastický signál s väčšinou konštantnou RMS hodnotou.

Priemerné hodnoty Mi pre každú frekvenčnú krivku i sú vypočítané ako plávajúce hodnoty pre poslené cca. 3 sek. Tento algoritmus je neustále “online” implementovaný signálovými procesormi (DSP), ktoré sú súčasťou AU pre každý z ôsmych akceleračných signálov (viac detailov nájdete v kapitole 4.2.9). Ki(t) preto reprezentuje parameter, ktorý popisuje intenzitu hľadaného praskavého signálu, ktorý je extrahovaný zo šumu pozadia.
• Za účelom monitorovania je umiestnených šesť akcelerometrov na nosiči rozvádzacích lopatiek a dva akcelerometre na vonkajšom plášti spaľovacej komory (jeden na vrchu, druhý na spodu). Signály snímača sú spracované nábojovými zosilňovačmi, digitalizované A/D meničom a potom prenesené do DSP dosky, ktorá vykonáva potrebné online výpočty vo frekvenčnom a časovom rozsahu pre všetkých osem kanálov.
