PhD physicist, with many years chemical industry R & D experience, especially in analytical methods. Also some experience in aerospace industry R & D.

I work regularly as a "freier Mitarbeiter" for the leading German chemistry journal Angewandte Chemie. Have translated several books, over 2500 pages altogether, for John Wiley & Sons, Wiley-VCH, and Georg Thieme Verlag, all in the analytical chemistry area (especially NMR spectroscopy). I also worked several years for the trade journal Kunststoffe/German Plastics.

In recent years I have translated material in a wide range of subject areas, mostly but not exclusively in science, technology and engineering, for agencies in Germany. For example, a current long-term project is for a leading German supplier of science teaching equipment. In contrast, a significant proportion of successful recent work has been on topics with scarcely any technological content.

As part of my work for Angewandte Chemie I also do copy-editing of English-language articles, and can undertake such work.
