Bio
I am a native Israeli freelance translator and interpreter with over 20 of experience. I live in London.

Hebrew < > English is the main language pair I work with (translation, interpretation, proofreading, transcription, subtitling and localisation).

I also work with the following language pairs:
Spanish > English and Hebrew
Romanian > English and Hebrew

I specialise in legal, financial, literary, media, psychology, and marketing translations. I also translate: websites, academic dissertations, film scripts, certificates, and government related documents to name but a few. I also provide proofreading services (SLC - Second Linguist Checks, and quality control) for an array of customers on a regular basis. My command of the English language is excellent and very near to native.

Over the past few years, I have been working for several leading translation agencies in the UK, translating mainly legal documents to be used in court and by various government offices. I have also translated dozens of legal and financial documents mainly from English into Hebrew and vice versa for private clients in the UK and abroad. I'm registered as a freelance translator and interpreter with leading translation agencies in Israel, the UK and other European countries. A few of my main projects in the past few years include: a translation of a Biography (English into Hebrew); translating, proofreading and editing large volumes of a dissertation (Hebrew into English) in the sphere of social psychology, translating parts of a novel (Hebrew into English) and a large volume medical project; Memoirs of a Holocaust Survivor.

Over the past year I have completed a large-scale translation project for the British Library of biblical and historic nature; I translated the legal Agreement between the State of Israel (Ministry of Strategic Affairs and the Zionist Federation) for the TLV in LND festival which took place in London in the summer of 2017 ; I translated a large scale legal project for the NCA (National Crime Agency in England) and I am currently working on a large volume project for the British Ministry of Justice.

In the Interpretation realm: a few years ago I completed an interpretation assignment at the Royal Courts of Justice (High Court) in London (Hebrew < >English). I also carried out interpretation assignments at the CNN office in London.

My rates depend on the word count, subject matter, complexity and schedule of the project. I usually prefer to see the document/s to be translated/proofread prior to providing a quote. CV's and certificates are priced differently.

Kind regards,
Esther Levene
