I’m a freelance translator based in Brazil. I’m also a journalist and worked as a news editor for a long time before becoming a translator and proofreader.

I hold two degrees – B.A. in Social Communications/Journalism and B.A. in Language and Literature/English-Portuguese Translation. 

For nine years, I have provided translations for a variety of documents, with a focus in business, economics, finance, human resources, marketing, management, legal, culture, education, media and entertainment, international affairs, politics, military and defense.  

I don’t consider myself a typical translator. I’ve always had a keen interest both in history and in current affairs. Thanks to my broad work experience in newspapers, I gained in-depth knowledge of economic, cultural, political and international affairs and develop solid writing skills. I also develop a sharp, critical thinking, good investigating and research skills, an appreciation for accuracy and clarity of information, as well as an ability to grasp complex issues quickly and explain them in simple language, to work under pressure to tight deadlines. I believe all of this reflects on the quality of my translation work.

I’m a very-oriented person and very flexible in terms of working hours and long-term projects, managing translations up to 100,000 words, from news stories, reports, agreements, terms and conditions, financial statements, brochures, advertising pieces, website and video content to leadership training materials, machine operation manuals and children’s books. In every project I undertake, I translate keeping the specific terminology and style appropriate to each field. I also love reading and I’m constantly seeking to improve my abilities and knowledge.
