Position 1
Gemäss aktueller Erkenntnis ist ASP Aton insolvent und überschuldet. Die Untersuchungen/Analysen sind zurzeit noch nicht abgeschlossen. Es wird nach einer alternativen Lösungsmöglichkeit für eine Weiterführung der Gesellschaft und/oder der Projekte gesucht. Der Ausgang der Verhandlungen ist im heutigen Zeitpunkt ungewiss, weshalb die Beteiligung mit einem Buchwert von CHF 4,4 Mio. vollends abgeschrieben und das Darlehen mit einem Buchwert von CHF 6,7 Mio. zu 25% wertkorrigiert wird. Der auszubuchende Verlust beträgt für ASP Aton insgesamt CHF 6,1 Mio.
Position 2
Das erste Investment von NEI in dieses Unternehmen erfolgte im Juli 2005 – NEI ist heute mit 22,73% ein wesentlicher Aktionär. Seit Inbetriebnahme der Anlage konnten noch keine positiven Resultate auf der P&L-Stufe „net profit“ gezeigt werden. So ist auch per Ende 2009 ein Verlust von Euro 715K budgetiert. Die weiteren Jahre sind mit einem positiven Ergebnis budgetiert, doch fehlt zurzeit die Gewissheit anhand eines track record, ob diese Resultate erzielt werden können. Es bleibt also abzuwarten, ob die Verlaufskurve des prognostizierten Erfolges eintreffen wird. Die budgetierten Bilanzzahlen weisen mit Euro 5,2 Mio. = 11 % eine eher bescheidene Eigenkapitalbasis aus. Gemäss Anmerkung des Advisor „Remaco“ basieren die Finanzdaten auf Due Diligence-Angaben August 2009 und sind demzufolge nicht updated. Seit anfangs 2009 wird nach einer Ablösung/einem Verkauf der Beteiligung gesucht, doch bis anhin ohne ersichtlichen Erfolg. Aufgrund der nicht aktuellen Zahlenangaben sowie der ungewissen Performance betrachten wir den anlässlich des ersten Investments zugrunde gelegten Unternehmenswert von Euro 13,2 Mio. zurzeit als angebracht. Aufgrund dieser Herabsetzung von Euro 18,5 Mio. auf Euro 13,2 Mio. ist eine Wertkorrektur von CHF 1,8 Mio. erforderlich.
Position 3
NEI ist seit März 2006 in das investiert und hält zurzeit eine Beteiligung von 15%. Ferner sind zwei weitere Anteilsbesitzer zu erwähnen, wobei Herr Dr. Lukurlu einen Mehrheitsanteil von über 60% hält und somit bestimmend wirkt. Verschiedentlich wurde der CFO ausgewechselt, was sich nicht stabilisierend auf das Finanz-reporting auswirkt. In den vergangenen Jahren wurde noch kein positives Ergebnis erwirtschaftet und für das Jahr 2009 liegen keine Angaben des Unternehmens vor. Aufgrund der erhaltenen Daten ist im heutigen Zeitpunkt der Fortgang des Unternehmens ungewiss und es bedarf eine Neuorientierung. Die Marktchancen mit dem einzigartigen Produkt sind als gut zu bezeichnen, doch muss eine geeignete Strategie noch gewinnbringend umgesetzt werden. Aufgrund der labilen Situation hat „Remaco“ empfohlen den aktuellen Unternehmenswert von Euro 30 Mio. auf Euro 15 Mio. herabzusetzen, was wir unterstützen können. Dadurch wird ein nicht realisierter Verlust von CHF 3,3 Mio. auszubuchen sein.

Position 1
To our knowledge at this time, ASP Aton is insolvent and heavily indebted. The investigations/analyses have not yet been completed. Alternative solutions are being sought to enable the company and/or projects to continue. The outcome of the negotiations is as yet uncertain, meaning that the company’s interest, given a book value of CHF 4.4 million, has been written off in its entirety and the loan, valued at CHF 6.7 million, has been adjusted by 25%. The loss sustained by ASP Aton from the write-off is CHF 6.1 million in total.
Position 2
NEI’s first investment in the company was made in July 2005. Today, NEI is a significant shareholder with a 22.73% interest in the company. Since the investment was made, there has yet to be a positive P&L figure under “net profit”. Hence a loss of EUR 715k is budgeted as at the end of 2009. Positive results are budgeted in for the remaining years but there is currently a lack of certainty as to whether this can actually be achieved, judging by the track record. It therefore remains to be seen if the actual situation will develop in line with the predicted success. The balance sheet reveals a rather modest equity capital base of EUR 5.2 million (11%). According to our advisors, Remaco, the financial data is based on the due diligence information from August 2009 and has therefore not been updated. Since the start of 2009, a sale or release of the interest in the company is being sought but has yet to yield any apparent success. Given the outdated figures and the uncertainty of the performance, we currently believe the company valuation of EUR 13.2 million used as a basis for our original investment was appropriate. A value adjustment of CHF 1.8 million is necessary following this reduction from EUR 18.5 million to EUR 13.2 million.
Position 3
NEI has held an interest in the company since March 2006, with a current stake/participation of 15%. There are two other shareholders, with Dr. Lukurlu holding the majority share of over 60%, giving him a controlling interest. The CFO has been replaced on numerous occasions, which has done little to stabilise the company, as reflected in the financial reporting. In recent years there have been no positive profit figures, with the results from 2009 not yet available. With the figures we have received, the company’s future is uncertain and it needs to be realigned. Its unique product means the company has good opportunities in the market but a targeted strategy must be implemented to bring in profits. The company’s precarious situation has led Remaco to recommend that we reduce the company’s current value from EUR 30 million to EUR 15 million, which we can endorse. This means that an unrealised loss of CHF 3.3 million will need to be written off.

I have recently completed a Masters degree in Translation and Professional Language Skills at the University of Bath and am seeking employment as a freelance translator.
As an English native speaker, I work predominantly from German into English, but have also worked from English into German in the past.
I have around one year full-time experience in translation, with another three years translating part-time.
While I was studying, I began working for one agency and have now been working in a freelance capacity for them for almost two years. Now that I’ve finished my studies however, I have taken on freelance work on a full-time basis and am looking for new challenges.
My specialisms include financial, legal and commercial translation (as I studied these in my Bachelors degree in International Management and German) but I also have experience translating marketing, automotive, engineering and many other types of text.
I would be happy to take on around to 3,000 source words per day but have also worked at significantly higher outputs where the jobs were particularly urgent.
In addition to working as a freelancer, I worked in the Corporate Communications Department at Siemens VDO and later Continental in Frankfurt am Main, translating, summarising and editing marketing and automotive texts in German and English. I also undertook a month's internship at a financial translation agency in Frankfurt.
In addition to my translation skills, I also have experience in editing, copywriting, revision and proofreading and have studied Public Service interpreting at post graduate level.
