Lorsqu’il s’agit d’obtenir les fonds de production pour un film documentaire, les stratégies peuvent varier considérablement selon chacun. Cependant lors de la production d’un premier film, une forte homogénéité peut se dessiner. Il s’agit alors soit d’employer ses propres fonds, soit d’en emprunter, sinon du moins d’emprunter du matériel, mais toujours en dépensant son temps sans compter. En bref, il s’agit d’un modèle où chacun investit son propre capital. De plus, il n’est pas question de rémunérer le temps passé à la réalisation. Nombreux sont ceux qui, avant de se mettre au documentaire, exerçaient des professions libérales ou étaient des artistes indépendants. Il se peut également que certains fussent employés au sein d’une société. Cependant dès qu’ils entrent dans le domaine de la production indépendante, tous sans exception doivent devenir des « hommes libres », ce qui pour beaucoup d’entre eux signifie perdre un emploi stable. Pour des Chinois qui ont réalisé depuis peu seulement l’importance d’un poste au sein d’une compagnie avec un salaire fixe, ce genre de choix peut impliquer un certain danger.
Si le premier documentaire d’un réalisateur reçoit un bon accueil, ce dernier aura la possibilité d’acquérir plus facilement un soutien économique pour son prochain film. Ce genre de succès ne comporte en général aucune connotation commerciale, mais désigne en revanche la participation à des festivals internationaux importants – le mieux étant de remporter un prix en compétition. Parfois le capital de départ provient de certaines sociétés de production chinoises, bien que celles-ci soient encore rares. Les fonds peuvent également venir du soutien à la création de certaines fondations internationales ou d’autres organisations similaires. En résumé, les opportunités de trouver des moyens de production sont très limitées et, de plus, les fonds des chaînes télévisuelles gouvernementales n’en font jamais partie.

Bio
As I was born in Switzerland, I got used as a child to learn foreign languages (German and Italian).
As a teenager, I lived in Thailand during a year and studied Thai language. This experience initiated a deep passion for Asian countries as well as for Asian languages.
For this reason, I chose to enter Chinese Studies at University and went many times to PRC and Taiwan during my studies. After my Master degree, I received a scholarship to study at the Peking University. I then decided to settle down in Beijing where I lived during two years.
I have always had a deep interest for translation and started translating texts as soon as I could master Chinese language. During my studies, I translated short novels and essays about Fine Arts and Cinema and I recently started to get familiar with various other subject matters as well.
As a therapist, I'm used to translate and master medical documents and texts.
As I've been living in latin America for the past two years, I master Spanish as well.
English, Chinese and Spanish are languages with which I am working with, translating them to French which is my native language.
