All present laws and regulations in Oman give equal opportunities to women in trade, labour, civil service and social insurance. Women's rights advancement suffers from the overall denial of freedom of association and expression. Women face legal discrimination and are afforded unequal rights under Oman's personal status law which governs matters of the Muslim family such as inheritance, marriage, divorce, and child custody. Allegations of spousal abuse and domestic violence are not uncommon and women depend on protection by their families. Oman is one of the few remaining members of the United Nations that has not yet ratified the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). Members of the Commission assured that the examination of Oman signing this convention was ongoing.

Il progetto ha stimato il potenziale di biomasse solide in 23 stati dell'Unione europea quantificandolo in circa 157 Mtep (milioni di tonnellate equivalenti al petrolio). Assumendo inoltre che circa la metà dei rifiuti prodotti dall'Unione europea è biodegradabile e che il valore di questo quantitativo può essere stimato in 37 Mtep, si ottiene un potenziale di biomassa disponibile di circa 200 Mtep, ovvero un quantitativo di energia sufficiente a coprire tutti i costi di energia primaria di circa 80 milioni di cittadini europei.

Passionate about languages and eclectic by my very nature, I graduated from a translation school in Brussels (with specialisation in international relations, politics, diplomacy, economy and law) and complemented my master’s degree with a postgraduate degree in European Studies.
Since then, I have explored many aspects of the language industry, working alternately as a translator, interpreter, language teacher and multilingual communication agent for IT service providers, and have been trained in Neuro-linguistic Programming in parallel.
As a freelance translator, I have mainly worked on projects in connection with the European institutions: most of all political texts (such as explanatory statements from European MP's or reports of diplomatic missions) and legal documents (minutes, opinions, communications, etc), collaborating with agencies that for several years have been the leading outsourcing agency of both the European Commission and the European Parliament for translations into French.
After leaving the realm of translation for some time to dedicate myself to interpretation and language teaching, I have started working again as a freelance translator for several American translation agencies on mostly technical and legal projects (articles of association of a Canadian foundation for example) from Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese into English.
Although I have successfully and repeatedly translated into English so far, French remains my favourite target language.
