Bio
I have a Master's in Translation Studies - German, Portuguese and English with a special focus on Literary Translation - from the Centre for Translation Studies, University of Vienna, including a one year research stay at the University of Santa Catarina, Brazil. I got a Bachelor's degree in Transcultural Communications from the University of Vienna, including exchange programme at the University of Porto, Portugal. I have been working for a Brazilian Portuguese translator and interpreter in Vienna specialized in legal texts in order to gain professional experience in all areas that a translation process involves, such as formatting and layout, editing, reviewing and revisioning, software and project management. Currently I am working at an Austrian publisher as an editor and proofreader for German and I am doing my PhD in Translation Studies and Brazilian Studies. I do also have a degree in Philosophy from the University of Vienna. My fields of expertise involve Literature and Humanities, such as philosophy, psychoanalysis, cultural studies, literary studies, art, linguistics, theatre, music, architecture, sociology, geography, history and politics.
In my activity as a freelance translator, I combine my knowledge in languages and culture with a highly professional standard.
