Der Nationalpark ist ein unvergleichlicher Lebensraum, in dem sich wilde Urlandschaft und jahrhundertealte, bergbäuerliche Kulturlandschaft harmonisch ergänzen. 10 000 verschiedene Pflanzen- und Tierarten leben hier. Eine Vielfalt, zu der vor allem auch die immer wieder gemähten Wiesen in den Tälern beitragen, und die Almen, auf denen allsommerlich das Vieh weidet. Bärtige Glockenblumen, Blaue Eisenhüte, Trollblumen, Alpenastern, Arnika, Orchideen und unzählige andere Blumen finden in dem kurz gehaltenen Gras einen weiten Lebensraum und überziehen die Wiesenhänge im Frühling und Sommer mit einem berauschend bunten Blütenteppich

Een veelsoortigheid waaraan vooral de regelmatig gemaaide weiden in het dal een bijdrage leveren, evenals de bergweiden waar de hele zomer het vee loopt te grazen. The Presidency of the EU welcomes UN Security Council Resolution 1556 on Sudan which was adopted today. The Presidency of the EU supports the urgent call on the Government of Sudan to fulfil immediately all the commitments it made in the Joint Communiqué of 3 July. Regarding the commitments of the Government of Sudan concerning the Janjaweed militias and
leaders, the Presidency welcomes the request by the UN Security Council to the UN Secretary-General to report in 30 days and monthly thereafter, as well as the intention of the UN Security Council to consider further actions in the event of non-compliance by the Government of Sudan, including measures as provided for in Article 41 of the Charter of the United Nations.
Translation - Dutch Verklaring van het voorzitterschap over resolutie 1556 van de VN Veiligheidsraad over Sudan
Het voorzitterschap van de EU verheugt zich over resolutie 1556 over Sudan die vandaag door de VN-Veiligheidsraad is aangenomen. Het voorzitterschap ondersteunt het dringende beroep dat op de regering van Sudan is gedaan om onmiddellijk alle toezeggingen van het Gezamenlijk Communiqué van 3 juli na te komen. Wat betreft de toezeggingen van de Sudanese regering omtrent de Janjaweed militia’s en hun leiders begroet het voorzitterschap het verzoek van de VN-Veiligheidsraad aan de Secretaris Generaal van de VN om over 30 dagen en daarna maandelijks rapport uit te brengen, evenals het voornemen van de VN-Veiligheidsraad om verdere maatregelen te overwegen indien de regering van Sudan niet meewerkt, met inbegrip van de maatregelen omschreven in Artikel 41 van het Handvest van de Verenigde Naties.
