Bio
I am a freelance translator and interpreter working in Korean and English, with more than seven years of experience in the field. I mainly translate from Korean to English, with occasional English to Korean services provided to certain clients.

I served in the Korean Air Force as an interpreting officer, providing translation and interpretation services to high-ranking general and staff members, some of whom included the Deputy Commander of the United States Forces Korea and Commander of the Korean Air Force Operations. During my service, I had the honor of providing ad-hoc interpretation services to various dignitaries such as the US Ambassador to South Korea, Governor of Gyeonggi Province in Korea, Commander of US Forces Korea, as well as many other generals and admirals.

With three years of military translation in the background, my translation and interpretation specialty is in national security, defense, aerospace, and other related fields. Such a focus, however, does not imply that my translation capabilities degrade in other areas, as my undergraduate training as a linguist provides me a broad-reaching insight into not only languages but also other social sciences and humanities disciplines. In 2014, I successfully translated an academic dissertation in statistical research methodology, which was published in an international academic journal with frequent citations. In addition, after retiring from the military service I translated promotional brochures, pamphlets, and presentations for local governments, public agencies, academic institutions, and renowned Korean companies, which helped them achieve successful communication with their foreign clients and visitors. From 2009 to date, I have translated over 1,800 projects successfully, not missing one deadline or failing to respond to any feedback.

My strength in this business stems from my promptness and accessibility, in addition to obvious accuracy and adequacy of my products. On top of the fact that my correspondences are always prompt and that I am readily accessible during promoted business hours, my clients have praised my command of both English and Korean, as well as the ability to clarify important points of communication, often delineating sentences and phrases whose meanings have been murky in the original text.

I believe that translation and interpretation is more than changing language; it is a work of facilitating communication. I hope to work with clients dedicated to providing excellent communication services, to whom I can add value required to advance in the ever-changing business environment.
