I am a Spanish > English translator with experience in medical and clinical trial translation. I have a master's degree in Spanish Translation from Kent State University's Institute for Applied Linguistics, and a bachelor's degree in Spanish from Malone University.
I have interned with iDISC Information Technologies, a language service provider in Barcelona, and with the Legal Aid Society of New York. I also have experience working as a medical interpreter for two years at a migrant clinic in Northeast Ohio, which has given me insight into medical translations and medical terminology. I have been translating on a freelance basis since 2012.
I have studied in Mexico, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Cuba, and I have also traveled to the Dominican Republic. My experience with different varieties of Spanish allows me to provide a more complete and nuanced English translation.
I am a member of the American Translators Association and the Northeast Ohio Translators Association, which seek to advance the profession of translation and interpreting and offer resources and opportunities for continuing education. I consistently work on sharpening my skills and learning more about new developments in the industries with which I work.
In my free time, I enjoy cooking, reading detective novels, and hiking. |
