Bio

• My first language is Sylheti/Bengali. I have about 23 years of experience in Translations on a part-time basis.
• I got a law professional background in Bangladesh, where I had been practicing law as a qualified lawyer in a District Judges’ court for 14 years (1988-2003). Then, I had to translate an uncounted volume of words from English to Bengali/Sylheti for the clients to make them understand the courts’ proceedings, orders, ad-interim orders, Judgments, verdicts, etc. most of which used to write in English.
• I worked for the largest commercial bank of Bangladesh for nine years (1979-1988). Then, all the daily transactions, descriptions of products, materials, and related activities in the bank were carried out in English. I and my other colleagues had to translate rules and regulations, processes and procedures of the bank in Sylheti/Bengali to make understand the Sylheti/Bengali speaking customers.

• I have been pursuing IoLET Level 6 DPSI course to be a qualified Interpreter and Translator in the UK, where I have translated more than a million words from Bengali to English and vice versa.
• I achieved Community Interpreting level 1 certificate and Level 3 certificate.
• Voluntary Community interpreting for several friends in the GP surgeries and hospitals in the UK;
• Interpreted and Translated for MoJ, the Police, Social Services, Immigration, and other public services in the UK and for several agencies based in UK, USA, Australia, Canada, and Singapore.
• Maintenance of accurate financial and administrative records;
• Organizing new initiatives and planning for promotions;
• I worked as an Assistant Teacher part-time in a High School of my village home from 1976 to 1979 when I was a student of Bachelor of Arts. I had taught English stories that had to be translated in Bengali/Sylheti to make the learners understand its implication.

* My rate is £0.05 per word (£50.00 per thousand words) for standard translations.
