PERSONAL SUMMARY
I am a Chartered Linguist with over 20 years of Interpreting and Translation experience, and possess fluency - both verbal and written - in Bengali/Bengali (Sylheti) and English. I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguist, and I was admitted to the National Register of Public Service Interpreters in 2009. In addition, I am also a Home Office and Metropolitan Police enlisted Interpreters. Currently, I also hold a position of an assessor for the Ministry of Justice Quality Assurance Framework to quality assure the translation and interpreting services provided across the justice sector in England and Wales. A key part of my role involves carrying out assessments of other linguists’ performance in the justice sector. I have extensive experience in providing translation and interpreting service in serious crime cases, complex care cases, and civil cases including arbitration and dispute cases. My areas of specialism include transcription/translation of covert products, interviews under cautions and Courtroom testimony as well as specialist service of translation where the evidence is claimed to be disputed. I have extensive experience in consecutive and simultaneous interpreting and sight translation in the legal settings. I have also undertaken simultaneous interpreting in a conference setting from a booth with a microphone. I am a highly proactive and a self-motivated professional who possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills. I enjoy being part of a team and thrive in highly pressurised and challenging working environment whilst remaining adherence to interpretation standards and conforming to a strict code of ethics.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

AJ TRANSLATION & INTERPRETATION JANUARY 2012 – PRESENT
Working freelance for various translation agencies, I have been providing Translation and interpreting services to Solicitors firms, Police, and Her Majesty’s Courts & Tribunal Service since. However, I began offering my service as AJ Translation & Interpretation from 2012. I am able to deliver interpretation and translation work between English and Bengali/Bengali (Sylheti) language to the highest standards of quality and accuracy. I have undertaken many translations and interpreting assignment in complex multi-defendant cases involving issues such as cell site analysis, telephone attribution, call data, CCTV analysis, cut-throat defences, bad character, hearsay, ID, joint enterprise, pathology and blood staining as well as Immigration fraud, money laundering, asset restraint, confiscation and complex care cases.
