I am a native Korean speaker, living and working in the Netherlands. Next to working freelance as an English-Korean translator, I worked as an interpreter from 2015 to 2021; primarily with Korean civil servants and companies, who came to do surveys on the Dutch and Belgian systems.

From extensive on-ground experiences, I have built diverse terminology. Among the fields, I interpreted are ecological agriculture systems, renewable energy systems, Dutch/Belgian legal systems (labor associations, pension companies), water management systems, reclamation projects, etc.

After working in the field of consecutive interpretation for 6 years, I’m now focused on translation, with great enthusiasm for naturally written Korean languages. For the past year, translating for fashion brands, I have broadened my scope, in the field of fashion and commerce. Furthermore, I have found an interest in the field of travel, working with an airline company, and an International travel guide organization for local alert information. 

 I strive to translate from the readers’ perspective and focus on the purpose of the message, trying to understand the differences between two languages and the field-specific vocabularies and style, for a natural reading experience that might feel as if originally written in Korean.
