Translation - English Our Mission
Uniplantex was born from the conviction that teamwork and integration are essential to achieve effectiveness, efficiency and quality excellence.
The Uniplantex network brings together companies with established experience in the field of industrial plant engineering, integrating technological expertise in complementary disciplines.
Uniplantex offers a range of high-quality industrial services for every stage of a facility’s life-cycle: from feasibility studies based on detailed cost and risk analysis, to the production of a preliminary project and all steps leading to its execution, to the procurement of permits and licenses, to the preparation of bills of materials, right up to the management of the plant itself or part of it, if required.
Our experts’ diverse areas of expertise enable them to cover all the technical areas relevant to the services we offer.
Why a Network of Companies?
Uniplantex is a network of specialised companies that come together as a single interlocutor to address our clients’ varied executive, managerial, coordinating and legal-administrative needs. This high level of integration is possible thanks to an optimal organisational structure and the possibility of coming together under Italian law 122/2010. Our clients interact with a single interlocutor – Uniplantex – but in doing so they have at their disposal a well-structured network of multidisciplinary firms working together as though parts of a unified whole.
Each of our projects is headed by a project leader, periodically joined by experts from other fields who contribute to achieve the requisite level of accuracy in information-gathering and the optimal development of bids, projects, and services.
Our Method
A unique interface, a coordinated organisational structure
Our organisational structure is designed to simplify communication with clients and to optimise the occasions of direct interaction.
A member of Uniplantex will be appointed Project Leader and will serve as the main and direct point of reference for our client, conversing with the various technical and administrative areas.
Our work method is based on the DMCAIC schema.
D = Define – define all aspects of the project, giving special
attention to those that are particularly complex or that present
risks for our clients.
M = Measure – measure and evaluate costs, risks, and benefits with
a view to fully achieving our clients’ objectives.
C = Connect – identify the areas of expertise required and make
them available to the project.
A = Analyse – analyse the project bearing in mind the objectives
set at the outset and the final solutions reached.

Italian to English: The Generic Medicines System in Italy: Hospital spending, effects of tenders and sustainability General field: Medical Detailed field: Medical: Pharmaceuticals
Translation - English The above analysis of critical challenges puts a spotlight on the question of the sustainability of the hospital system – a system which, on the one hand, was efficient for many years and was able to ensure a constant reduction of pharmaceutical prices, in part thanks to genericisation and the participation of generics companies in tenders, but, on the other hand, is now squeezed between spending hikes and inadequate spending ceilings.
The challenge is to render the operation of the hospital system sustainable once again, not just through spending cuts but through a comprehensive rethinking of healthcare governance. Alongside this broad process, we can call attention to some policy guidelines that could help to improve the operation of hospital tenders.
Cost effective tendering
Tenders for medicine procurement are adjudicated to the lowest price, so that in the end what counts is the discount that companies offer with respect to the starting price for bids.
However, nothing stands in the way of introducing mechanisms to make tenders more economically advantageous by taking into account not only prices but also qualitative elements that add value to the bids on offer.
In particular, elements that should be given some weight in the evaluation include the availability of different medicinal strengths and of any devices necessary for the medicine’s administration, the reliability of suppliers (for instance in terms of financial solidity and credit rating), the ability of the supplier to affect the life-cycle costs of the product (an aspect required by new regulations and an orienting principle of new European policy).

Experience
Years of experience: 10. Registered at ProZ.com: Dec 2016.
I have a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, as well as an M.A. and Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame. As a doctoral student, I got the opportunity to travel widely to conduct research: I visited Canada, France, and Italy; and spent several months in the U.K. and almost two years in Germany. After my Ph.D., I worked as a post-doctoral fellow in Italy. Additionally, I traveled as often and as widely as I could in my free time. All of these experiences nurtured my love of different cultures, places, and above all languages.
A good translator needs not only to speak a language, but also to have strong writing skills in the target language. I speak 5 languages - English, Italian, Spanish, French and German - but the language most central to my personal, creative, and academic experience is English. This is why I only translate into English. I am fully fluent—not only linguistically but in a literary and cultural way—in Spanish and Italian, which is why I prefer to translate from these two source languages.
My favorite activities in addition to writing and translating are reading, knitting, doing yoga and spending time with my two-year-old son.
