Historic aviation, engineering, general technology. Main specialization is the translation of manuals, in particular automotive (workshop manuals, online training courses for sales and workshop staff) and machinery (from food processing machines to cash registers).
Also experience in brochures, for instance for PC's, servers and peripherals, consumer electronics, company newsletters, material safety data sheets and much more.
Sworn translator. Started working freelance in mid 1997, formally establishing my 'one-man-band' in January 1999. Worked for major translation or advertising agencies in The Netherlands, Belgium and the UK, such as Comtech, Concorde, Crestec, Euro-Com, Dhaxley, SDL and Translators International.
Did work (through agencies and not directly) for Cathay Pacific, DaimlerChrysler, Dell, GM (Chevrolet, Opel), Hewlett Packard, Trust, Honda, Mazda, Nissan and Volvo. So far I did translate more than 6 million words without receiving serious complaints about the end quality of the product. I try to avoid pitfalls by not accepting jobs covering subjects I am not familiar with.
