I am a native English-speaking law graduate now specialising in legal translations from Italian and French into English. I graduated with an LLB (first class honours) from the UK and an LLM (with a focus on International Business Law) from Canada. In addition to my legal education, I also have practical legal work experience. I am a licensed lawyer in Ontario, Canada and I have worked at various law firms in different practice areas, giving me a wide range of knowledge in both the legal process and legal documents. I have experience in corporate law, commercial litigation, immigration and employment law.

I have also worked alongside Italian and French qualified lawyers, full time, in a legal translation agency. I was tasked with translating and editing various legal documents in multiple practice areas, including intellectual property, public procurement, commercial agreements, insurance, banking, corporate finance and tax. Primary documents included: leases, tenders, articles and memoranda of association, shareholder agreements, debt restructuring plans, tax audit reports, financial statements, pleadings, arbitration and court decisions (domestic and EU). When faced with editing translated documents, I am primarily tasked with ensuring that they reflect the source text while rendering the translated text in Plain English. My work experience has provided me with the ability to provide accurate translations in my offered language combinations as I have been widening my knowledge on Civil Law systems and working with complex legal documents. My tasks also include proofreading texts targeted for publication in academic journals and websites. My educational background coupled with my work experience has provided me with a solid foundation to effectively translate, edit translations or solely proofread legal texts targeted for English speaking lawyers.
