With the exception of brief update periods, Android has been available under a free and open source software license since October 21, 2008. Google published the entire source code (including network and telephony stacks) under an Apache License. Google also keeps the reviewed issues list publicly open for anyone to see and comment.
Even though the software is open-source, device manufacturers cannot use Google's Android trademark unless Google certifies that the device complies with their Compatibility Definition Document (CDD). Devices must also meet this definition to be eligible to license Google's closed-source applications, including the Android Market. In September 2010, Skyhook Wireless filed a lawsuit against Google in which they alleged that Google had used the compatibility document to block Skyhook's mobile positioning service (XPS) from Motorola's Android mobile devices. In December 2010 a judge denied Skyhook's motion for preliminary injunction, saying that Google had not closed off the possibility of accepting a revised version of Skyhook's XPS service, and that Motorola had terminated their contract with Skyhook because Skyhook wanted to disable Google's location data collection functions on Motorola's devices, which would have violated Motorola's obligations to Google and its operators. For any organization to be effective and efficient in achieving its goals, the people in the organization need to have a shared vision of what they are striving to achieve, as well as clear objectives for each team / department and individual. You also need ways of recognizing and resolving conflict amongst people, so that conflict does not become so serious that co-operation is impossible. All members of any organization need to have ways of keeping conflict to a minimum - and of solving problems caused by conflict, before conflict becomes a major obstacle to your work. This could happen to any organization, whether it is an NGO, a CBO, a political party, a business or a government.
Conflict management is the process of planning to avoid conflict where possible and organizing to resolve conflict where it does happen, as rapidly and smoothly as possible.

لكي تكون أي منظمة ناجحة و فعالة في تحقيق أهدافها، يجب أن يكون لدى أعضائها رؤية مشتركة لما يسعون لتحقيقه، فضلا عن أهداف واضحة لكل فريق و إدارة وفرد. و تحتاج أيضا إلى طرق التعرف على النزاعات وسبل حلها بين الناس، بحيث لا يصبح الصراع خطيرا جدا لدرجة يتعذر فيها التعاون. هذا ويتعين على جميع أعضاء أي منظمة أن يكون لديهم طرق إبقاء الصراعات في حدها الأدنى وحل المشاكل الناجمة عنها قبل أن تصبح عقبة كبرى أمام العمل الذي تريد المنظمة القيام به. وقد يحدث ذلك لأي منظمة، سواء كانت منظمة غير حكومية أو منظمة أهلية أو حزب سياسي أو شركة أو حكومة. إدارة النزاعات هي عملية التخطيط لتجنب النزاع حيثما أمكن والتنظيم لحل النزاع حيثما يحدث، و ذلك بأسرع ما يمكن من الوقت و بأكبر قدر من السلاسة. |
