Source text - Portuguese Uma conjugação de fatores estruturais e conjunturais desfavoráveis, agravada pela adoção de políticas internas e externas imprudentes no período pós-independência levou ao isolamento do Pais X no seio ocidental. Este isolamento serviu de estímulo para a adoção de políticas domésticas e internacionais cada vez mais radicais, criando urna imagem negativa do país na esfera ocidental.
As profundas mudanças sistêmicas, no sentido de conformar um mundo mais globalizado, efetuadas no período de pós-Guerra e consolidadas com o colapso do comunismo no final da década de 80, ergueram as questões econômicas e sociais a um lugar de primazia na agenda internacional. No âmbito nacional, essas mudanças conjunturais refletiram-se numa maior preocupação com o progresso e o bem estar econômico e social dos povos, traduzindo-se nas relações internacionais numa maior cooperação entre os estados.
Translation - English A combination of unfavourable structural and situational factors aggravated by ill-advised domestic and foreign policy measures during the post-independence era led to Country X’s isolation within the western hemisphere. This isolation fostered the adoption of even more irrational domestic and international policies which created a negative image of the country in the Western world.
The profound systemic changes towards a more globalized world wrought during the immediate post war period and consolidated by the collapse of communism at the end of the 80's, elevated social and economic issues to a more salient position on the international agenda. At the national level, these structural changes were reflected in a greater concern among countries with progress in general and more specifically with the economic and social well-being of their citizens, translating on the international scene into greater cooperation among states.

Bio
As a native English speaker, I received my early education in the British Commonwealth where I was first introduced to foreign languages (French and Spanish) in secondary school. It was for me love at first sight. Equipped with this newfound passion and a natural flair for the subject area, I immediately upon completing my secondary education, enrolled at the main University in my country to pursue a career in Modern Languages (French, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese). There I spent two and a half years before being offered a Government to Government award to complete my undergraduate studies in Brazil. By then, being clear that I wanted to specialize in Translation and Interpretation, I chose to remain in Brazil for six and a half years, successfully reading for a Licensed High School Teaching Degree (BA) in Portuguese and a Master's Degree (MA) in International Relations.
Since obtaining the above certifications, I have acquired over twenty years' experience as a professional translator/editor and conference interpreter specializing in the fields of International Org/Dev/Coop, Government/Politics, General Law and Certificates/Diplomas/Licenses/CVs. Over the period, I have become known for my thoroughness and accuracy, attention to detail as well as my research, writing and formatting skills. I have also been fortunate to work as a practitioner during stated period in my chosen field of expertise (International Relations), having served in the Foreign civil service at both the national and regional levels for a total of eight years.
Moreover, due to the fact that many of my translation/interpretation assignments have taken place within the framework of meetings, whether bilateral, multilateral or B2B, I have honed the skill of producing accurate work under strict deadlines and over long hours as ofttimes negotiations extend way beyond the scheduled meeting end times. Presently, I am available to provide this level of service from Monday to Friday.
