I am a dual national (Portuguese and British) and a native speaker of European Portuguese and English. In 2020 I completed my Master’s degree in Translation, Interpreting and Subtitling at the University of Essex (Portuguese < > English), having achieved Distinction. Prior to my Master’s I did a BA in Modern Languages (French and Spanish) also at Essex, finishing with a First Class Honours and winning the University’s prize for Best Student of French in both my second and final years. As part of my BA, I also spent a year living and working as an English Language Assistant for the British Council in Pau, France.

I am currently working as a freelance translator and proofreader, with a particular interest in literary translation, subtitling and website/application localisation, although I translate in several fields such as tourism, personal documents (e.g. Birth and Death certificates, Diplomas), marketing, instructional texts and videos, journalistic texts, etc.

In July 2021, I finished my Schuman Traineeship at the Portuguese Translation Unit of the Secretariat of the European Parliament, Directorate-General for Translation, during which I translated various texts relating to the activities of the European Parliament such as minutes of meetings, citizens' petitions, and legislative and non-legislative amendments, from English to Portuguese.
