Source text - English Access to prompt and effective treatment is a cornerstone of any public health programme. In the absence of any 100% effective preventative intervention being consistently implemented across highly endemic and epidemic prone areas the management of clinical malaria is the most vital and cost-effective action to reduce the malaria burden. In order to be able to provide prompt and effective treatment, it is essential that healthcare providers are familiar with, and able to practice, the evidence-based strategies as adopted by the Chadian National Malaria Strategy. These protocols have not yet been widely introduced, reaching only the pockets of health staff working in areas where international partners are supporting health programmes.
Translation - French L’accès à un traitement rapide et efficace constitue le fondement de tout programme de santé publique. En l’absence d’une intervention de prévention efficace à 100 % dans des zones endémiques et menacées d’épidémie, la gestion du paludisme clinique représente l’action la plus vitale et la plus rentable de réduction de l’impact du paludisme. Afin de pouvoir fournir un traitement rapide et efficace, il est essentiel que les fournisseurs de soins connaissent bien et soient en mesure d’appliquer les stratégies fondées sur des données probantes adoptées par la Stratégie nationale tchadienne contre le paludisme. Ces protocoles n’ont pas encore été déployés à grande échelle et ne concernent que les groupes de travailleurs sanitaires travaillant dans les zones où des partenaires internationaux soutiennent des programmes de santé.
