Translation - English The descriptive statistics regarding the unit weight values of the prepared concrete mixtures are given in Table 4. The plot regarding the average unit weight values obtained from the experiment is seen in Fig. 4. The unit weights of the ECACs prepared at different cement contents vary between 1.29 and 1.70 kg/m3. As the amount of cement in the mixture increases, the unit weight values increase, too. It is seen that the unit weight increases in the 10% fly ash replacement concrete, whereas it decreases in the 20% fly ash replacement concrete. The varying cement mixtures have been prepared in varying fly ash contents. As a result of the analysis of variance, it was found that there was not a significant difference between the groups of mixtures with 350 and 450 kg/m3 cement content (p≤0,.05) (Table 5). The motor pump (1,2) supplies the pressure in the system. The oil is filtered by the double filter (18) supplied with electric clogging indicator. It’s possible to replace the clogged filter element (17) without switching off the power pack by turning the cock. The oil level indicators (10) signal the alarm in case of too low oil level in the tank. The pressure relief valve (16) limits the maximum pressure in the circuit at the calibration value. The pressure switches (32) signal the alarm in case of too high pressure or too low pressure in the circuit.
Overload filling line:
The motor pump (35,36) supplies the flowrate for quick filling of oveload cylinders, till to achieve a maximum pressure of 25 bar, limited by the pressure relief valve (27), electrically controlled by the pressure switch (drwg 0720000165 pos. 6). Bölgede meteorolojik şartların da etkisi ile elde edilen maksimum Pb ve Cd konsantrasyonları ve Hava Kalitesi Değerlendirme ve Yönetimi Yönetmeliği (HKDYY) sınır değerleri Tablo 3’ te verilmektedir. Model programı değerleri tesise ait olan her iki bacadan yayılan Pb ve Cd konsantrasyonlarının hava kalitesine katkısını hesaplamaktadır. Tablo 3’ te verilen değer 5 km x 5 km’ lik alan içinde Pb ve Cd emisyonundan kaynaklanan maksimum değerlerdir. Seçilen bölgede, Pb elementinin maksimum konsantrasyonu 0.66 µg m-3, Cd elementi ise 1.64 µg m-3’ dür. Translation - English The effect of the Pb and the Cd concentrations measured at the rotary kiln stacks of the cement plant on the quality of air on a yearly basis was determined using an air quality modeling program. The maximum local Pb and Cd concentrations, which were also affected by the meteorological conditions, and the corresponding Air Quality Assessment and Management Regulation (AQAMR) threshold values, are given in Table 3. The modeling software calculates the contributions, in terms of concentration, of the Pb and the Cd emission from both stacks of the plant to the quality of the air. The values given in Table 3 are the maximum values of the Pb and the Cd emissions originating from an area of 5 km x 5 km. The maximum concentration of the Pb element was 0.66 µg m-3 whereas that of the Cd element was 1.64 µg m-3 within the region of interest. The comparison of these concentrations with the limiting values set in the regulation yielded that the Pb concentration is below the transition limit value, but it is also above the targeted upper limit value. In the case of Cd, on the other hand, the concentration is observed to be well above the targeted upper limit value.

Translation - English It has been reported in the literature that in order to prevent cracking in the varnish layers, non-drying herbal oils, monomeric chemicals with high boiling points and polymeric resins can be used as plastifiers and that among these substances, phthalates, sebacates and phosphates are durable in the range between 69ºC - 70ºC [2]. Moreover, the largest loss in brightness following accelerated aging of varnish layers through the hot-and-cold-check test has been observed in the cellulosic varnish and the beech wood [1]. It has also been reported that when Gubas (Endospernum peltatum Merr.) wood material is subjected to the hot-and-cold-check test after the application of varnish with acid hardener or cellulosic varnish to its surface, the surface with cellulosic varnish exhibits fracture, cracking and color change [3]. The high energy of the ultraviolet (UV) rays in the sunlight causes degradation in the varnish and the paint layers, and the paint layers with darker pigments were reported to lead to surface heating with temperatures rising up to 100 ºC or more [4]. Function:
The guides that are prismatic and L-shaped are assembled in the four corners of the slide. A system with screws and nuts makes an adjustment possible in parallellism and perpendicularity.
Preventive maintenance:
Preventive maintenance to perform every 6th month:
- Check the clearance in the slide guides; this is done like this:
1) Drive the press to its B.D.C..
2) Measure the clearance with a thickness gauge between the sliding plates (E21H00021 pos. 1, 3) and the sliding guides (D21H00026 pos. 2, 8) at the upper, lower, and the middle part of the slide. The clearance should be between 0.1 and 0.2 mm.
3) If the clearance is not within those guide lines, adjust the slide clearance according to the following.
- Check the lubrication of the guides:
1) Check that there is a consistant flow of oil to the guides.
2) Loosen the pipes to the slide and to the gibs (E21H00021 pos. 8, 9) and check that the progressive lubrications are working.
- Check that screws and the nuts are properly tightened.
- Check if the sliding guides (D21H00026 pos. 2, 8) have been damaged.

Source text - English It is a well-established claim that mechanical testing is paramount, not only in aerospace, civil engineering and the automotive industry, but also in health care. Finite element modeling has been a very valuable tool for structural analysis in orthopedic biomechanics. Since 1972, many researchers have built models to study various physiological conditions [1]. In the past few years, as the modeling techniques developed, it is now possible to generate finite-element models. It takes into account the morphology of the bone segment and the distribution of the bone tissue mechanical properties of the specific subject [2][3]. Whatever the methods adopted, these models derive the necessary information to build the bone model from medical imaging data. Computed tomography (CT) represents, at present, the method of choice for the generation of these subject-specific finite-element models, since from CT data it is possible to define the geometry and the local tissue properties of the bone segment to be modeled [5][6]. However, the data processing techniques used to extract this information from the CT data may frequently be affected by no-negligible errors that propagate in an unknown way through the various steps of the model generation, affecting in an unpredictable way the accuracy of the model predictions. Furthermore, three-dimensional models sometimes require a prohibitive number of many hours to build, because of the complex geometries encountered in the human anatomy. This paper describes three methods of developing and optimizing a finite element model of human skeleton based on Materialise's Interactive Medical Image Control System (MIMICS), by using CT scan data. The same method can also be used to create patient-specific models from any other body part using either MRI or CT data [4]. A three-step procedure was followed to generate a 3D model of an extracted human phalange.

Bu nedenle dişbudak odunun iç morfolojik yapısının detaylı olarak bilinmesi ile emprenye, kağıt, mobilya ve kaplama sanayinde kullanımının artırılmasına ve gelecekteki kullanım alanlarına uygunluk derecesini saptamaya yönelik çalışmalara bilimsel verilerin hazırlanması açısından önemlidir.
Translation - English Owing to its fast-growing properties and its wood enjoying a high industrial value, the Narrow-Leaved Ash species (Fraxinus angustifolia Vahl.) has attracted growing attention in the European countries and consequently studies on this species have gained momentum (Fraxigen, 2005, Gerard et al., 2006, Kremer et al., 2006). A review of the literature indicates that although studies are available on the properties of the wood of narrow-leaved ashes in naturally occurring forests; the literature on the properties of the wood from the trees of artificial forests (plantation), such as the effect of the plantation spacing on the morphological properties of wood, is rather limited. For that reason, a detailed knowledge about the inner morphological structure of the ash tree wood is required to increase its use in the impregnables, paper, furniture and veneer industries and to provide scientific data for studies on determining its applicability for future areas of use.

Source text - English MRI-based assessment of hip joint translations. To better understand movement limitations and, to some extent, the pathogenesis of osteoarthritis, it is important to quantitatively measure femoroacetabular translations to assess if any joint subluxation occurs. In this paper, we aim at measuring hip joint displacements from magnetic resonance images (MRI) based on a surface registration technique. Because this measurement is related to the location of the hip joint center (HJC), we investigate and compare different HJC estimation approaches based on patient-specific 3D bone models. We estimate the HJC based on a simulated circumduction while minimizing inter-articular distance changes. Measurements of femoroacetabular translations during low amplitude abductions (80 samples) and extreme flexions (60 samples) in female professional dancers, which is a population potentially exposed to femoroactebaluar impingements, do not show any significant subluxation.

Hareket kısıtlamalarını ve belli bir ölçüde osteoartrit patojenezini anlamak için femoroacetabular translasyonların (geçişlerin), herhangi bir eklem subluksasyonunun oluşup oluşmadığını görmek amacıyla, nicel olarak ölçülmeleri önem taşır. Source text - Turkish Diazinonun toksik etkisiyle meydana gelen morfolojik anormalliklere dair çok sayıda araştırma olmasına rağmen (8,9,13,14,15), anormalliklerin kalıtsal olup olmadığı araştırılmamıştır. Özellikle hedef olmayan organizmaların bu açıdan araştırılması, insan dahil olmak üzere, diğer populasyonların içinde bulunduğu riskin değerlendirilmesi açısından faydalı olacaktır. Drosophila melanogaster’in genetik özellikleri ve üremesi çok iyi bilinmektedir ve memelilerdeki metabolik aktivasyon enzimlerinin hemen hepsine sahiptir. Drosophila DNA’sını etkileyecek bir maddenin, memeli ve insan DNA’sında da benzer bir etki oluşturabileceği bilinmektedir [16,17]. Bu nedenle sentetik maddelerin fenotipik özelliklere etkisinin incelenmesi ve bu etkilerin sonraki nesillerde takip edilmesi için yararlı olacak bir organizmadır. Bu amaçla, bu çalışmada, diazinonun Drosophila melanogaster’in morfolojik özellikleri ve eşey oranına etkileri araştırılmıştır.
Translation - English Although there are lots of research regarding the morphological abnormalities occurring due to toxic effect of diazinon (8,9,13,14,15) it has not been investigated whether these abnormalities are hereditary or not. Investigation of especially the non-target organisms would be beneficial in terms of evaluating the risk that the other populations including the human population are under. The genetic properties and the reproduction of Drosophila melanogaster are known thoroughly and it has nearly all of the metabolic activation enzymes that are present in mammals. It is known that any factor which can effect the Drosophila DNA can result in a similar effect on the mammalian and the human DNA, too [16,17]. Therefore, it is a useful organism which can be beneficial for investigating the effect of synthetic materials on the phenotypic features and keeping track of these effects in subsequent generations. For this purpose, the effect of diazinon on morphological properties and sex-ratio of Drosophila melanogaster has been investigated in this study.

Source text - English Preferred elbow position in confined wheelchair configuration.High mechanical load leads to pain and damage in the upper extremities of wheelchair users. Wheelchair users suffer a limited range of motion of the upper extremities due to the confining wheelchair configuration. This is a key factor affecting the efficiency of wheelchair propulsion and upper extremity loading. With a view toward further understanding the interaction between the user and wheelchair, this study identifies the accessible workspace of the elbow under conventional wheelchair design and identifies the actual location and range of motion of the elbow during wheelchair propulsion. An eight-camera motion analysis system recorded the kinematics of 14 non-experienced wheelchair users. Users under standardized conservative wheelchair-sitting position moved their right elbow as widely as possible at five different wheel angles while elbow positions were recorded, thereby establishing the maximum possible elbow workspace. Actual positions of the right elbow were recorded during wheelchair propulsion. The arc angles of the elbow workspace range from 68.81 to 83.41 and are located at the lateral and posterior quadrant of the circle on which the elbow trajectories located. Reachable workspace is smaller when the hand holds the hand rim at a larger wheel angle. The preferred positions for propulsion are located approximately 2/3’s of the way through the total workspace. The obtained data will be useful for improved wheelchair design and biomechanical modeling of the wheelchair/user system.

Kayıtlara bakıldığında, geleneksel oturma konumunda olan kullanıcıların sağ dirseklerini olabildiğince geniş açıyla hareket ettirdikleri ve bu sayede en fazla hareket alanını elde ettikleri gözlenmiştir. İtme sırasında sağ dirseğin gerçek konumları da kaydedilmiştir. Dirsek hareket alanının ark açıları 68.81 ile 83.41 arasında değişiklik göstermiş ve dirseğin katettiği yolun üzerinde olduğu dairenin yanal ve arka çeyreklerinde gözlemlenmiştir. Ellerin kenarları daha geniş tekerlek açısıyla kavradığı durumlarda ulaşılabilen dirsek hareket alanının daha küçük olduğu görülmüştür. Sandalyenin hareketi (propulsiyon) sırasında tercih edilen dirsek pozisyonlarının, toplam hareket alanının üçte ikisi boyunca elde edilebildiği gözlemlenmiştir. Elde edilen veriler geliştirilmiş tekerlekli sandalye tasarımı ve sandalye / kullanıcı sisteminin modellenmesi açısından yararlı olacaktır.

Studies were conducted in accordance with the decisions and the regulations of the Ethics Committee for Test Animals that was ruled by .... University, the Faculty of Pharmacy. Translation - English SAF 2205 duplex stainless steel plates of 2 mm thickness are joined successfully by friction stir welding using the WC tool at a constant rotational speed of 600 rpm coupled with varying traverse speeds ranging between 50- 200 mm/min. It has been determined that as the traverse speed increases, the sizes of the α and the grains are decreased and in accordance with that the hardness and the tensile strength of the welded region are increased. Similarly, a relationship has been identified between the traverse speed and the tip temperature that has been attained during friction stir welding (SAEDID, 2008). In a study conducted on the capabilities of high-speed friction stir welding, one of the new applications of friction stir welding of 304 austenitic stainless steels, the tool rotational speed was kept constant at 600 rpm and a successful welding was performed in high traverse speeds up to 1200 mm/min. Joints with tensile strength that is equal to that of the parent metal were obtained at traverse speeds up to 1150 mm/min. In addition, it has been observed that increasing the traverse speed results in an increase in the corrosion resistance of the joint (ISHIKAWA, 2008).

TPB posits that behaviour is determined by a combination of people’s behavioural intentions and perceived behavioural control. Intentions, in turn, are held to be predicted by subjective norm, attitude toward the behaviour, and perceived behavioural control (PBC). Source text - English HIDDEN MARKOV MODELS (HMMs) have been the mainstay of the statistical modeling used in modern speech recognition systems. Despite their limitations, variants of HMMs are still the most widely used technique in that domain, and are generally regarded as the most successful. In this chapter we will develop the basic theory of HMMs, touch on their applications, and conclude with some pointers on extending the basic HMM model and engineering practical implementations. An HMM is nothing more than a probabilistic function of a Markov process. We have already seen an example of Markov processes in the n-gram models of Chapters 2 and 6. Markov processes/chains/models were first developed by Andrei A. Markov (a student of Chebyshev). Their first use was actually for a linguistic purpose – modeling the letter sequences in works of Russian literature (Markov 1913) – but Markov models were then developed as a general statistical tool. They provide product-specific sensory and structural properties. In addition, owing to the antimicrobial substances they metabolize, they possess therapeutic properties and hence protect health (5.9). The flora of the lactic acid bacteria in the dairy products prepared by the traditional methods have recently become the subject of many research studies. Much work is currently done in order to implement biological monitoring (Allan et al., 2006). However, chemical monitoring will continue being an important source of data. Water quality indicators have generally been grouped into three broad categories: physical, chemical and biological, each of them containing a significant number of water quality
variables (CCME, 2004). The acceptability of water quality for its intended use depends on the magnitude of these indicators being often governed by regulations (EPA, 1994). In relation to this, for example, the Catalan Water Agency (Catalonia, Spain) uses more than 150 chemical indicators to survey the condition of freshwaters (ACA, 2005).

Source text - English 8-The development of models capable of relating the dielectric properties of grains to their moisture content is a fundamental step towards designing moisture meters for on-line operations. Several methods have been proposed to reduce the effect of bulk density, r on moving wheat moisture content estimation based on the simultaneous measurement of one or more dielectric parameters. However, there is little information on models which estimate on-line the moisture content of other agricultural commodities such as rice, coffee, common beans, maize, soybeans, and sorghum. The object of this research is the development and assessment of three dielectric models that would allow the density-independent estimation of the moisture content of moving seeds of common bean. Samples of variety Campeão-3 at moisture contents ranging from 11.5 to 20.6% (w.b.), and bulk densities ranging from 756 to 854 kg m-3 have been used. The resulting models could estimate common bean moisture content with standard errors of calibration in the range from 1.0 to 1.3 percentage points, and maximum errors from 1.9 to 3.5 percentage points moisture. It has been also verified that the methods originally developed for microwave frequencies do not produce acceptable results at radiofrequencies.

This type of problem is called as parallel assembly line balancing (PALB) problem. In this paper, a tabu search based approach is proposed for PALB problem with aim of maximizing line efficiency (LE) (or minimizing number of stations) and minimizing variation of workloads (V). This study is based on the study of Gokcen et al. [1]. The proposed approach is illustrated on a numerical example and its performance is tested on a set of well-known problems in the literature. This study is the first multi objective parallel assembly line balancing study in the literature.

Çalışmamda özellikle riskteki değer yönteminin tanıtılması ve yurtdışındaki düzenleyici otoritelerin yönteme ilişkin bakış açılarının verilmesi ve uygulama ile anlatılması amaçlanmıştır. Translation - English As an unavoidable element of financial markets, risk has become more important during the last 25 years and thus a need has emerged for more complex risk management methods. In this study, I discuss risk in terms of market risk, arising from the changes in the prices of financial assets and liabilities. The Value at Risk (VaR) is a statistically-based method used more commonly in recent years for the determination of market risk. VaR means the maximum possible loss within a specified time span at a given confidence level. The main aim of this study is to introduce value at risk management, to discuss the views of foreign regulator authorities regarding the method and to present the method with an application. In the light of this objective, the study includes the growing importance of risk management in recent years, and parallel to this, the factors enabling the common usage of VaR as a risk management instrument, the importance of VaR in the context of risk management, the definition of VaR, the methods used in VaR calculations, the application areas of VaR and the basic regulations dealing with the method. Thus, in this study, the IMKB 100 index and a portfolio constituting of 5 shares were analyzed to obtain the Value at Risk.

Translation - English Even though some of the findings, which span from the 1st century B.C. to the 7th century A.D., look similar to the examples identified as Ephesus type, the Cibyra products have a higher quality in terms of their clay structures and decorations. Cibyra lamps in most cases have floral and figural designs on their discuses and shoulders. Most of the lamps found in Cibyra have a seal in the form of a “naked foot” on their bases. A few examples with the same seal impression were also found at other important production centers like Ephesos, Miletos, and Sardis. However, the high number of examples with the “naked foot” seal among the Cibyra lamps and their quality makes one think that Cibyra was the production centre. The high number of faulty products and mold pieces found during surface surveys performed in the city indicate that Cibyra was an important lamp production centre for West Anatolia.

Bugüne kadar bildirilen laboratuar ölçekli FACTS ve STATCOM tasarımlarında [5], [7], [8] ve [9] çoğunlukla, ticari olarak elde edilebilen hazır modül ve kontrol kartları kullanılmıştır. Translation - English Most of the studies performed on the FACTS systems and the STATCOM are generally being carried out in the form of simulation studies due to the high installation costs of these systems. Nowadays, physical modeling studies [5], [6] are being implemented in the form of small-scale system replicates for the purpose of making up for the lack of the availability of experimental studies. These physical models are used in conjunction with the energy system setups in the research laboratories of the universities. Design of the laboratory-scale model is directly related with the type of the STATCOM, the dimensions of the circuit components and economic factors such as the cost of the control boards. In general, commercially available ready-made modules and control boards have been used in the laboratory-scale FACTS and STATCOM designs reported up until today [5], [7], [8] and [9]. These control boards are preferred due to the reason that they include ready-made mathematical functions in their software and some additional features such as A/D, D/A converters and RAM memories in their hardware, and that they have high command operation speeds. However, it is not generally possible to repair these ready-made modules in case of a fault that may occur during the experimental studies. They also have many disadvantages including the fact that they require more than one control board for complex control systems and sophisticated coordination operations among these cards [7] as well as their high costs for the university research laboratories [5].

Ancak, yüksek gerilim yer altı kablo sistemlerinin(high voltage underground cable systems) kompleks yapısı ve program içindeki mevcut kablo modellerinin getirdiği sınırlamalar nedeniyle kablo sistemine ait verilerin, kablo sabitleri alt programı tarafından kullanılabilecek bir şekle dönüştürülmesi gerekir. İlk olarak, Tablo 1’deki yeraltı kablo sistemine ait fiziksel ve geometrik verilerin [7]’deki kriterler dikkate alınarak uygun dönüştürme işlemleri yapılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler, şekil 6’da gösterildiği gibi PSCAD programı içindeki kablo sabitleri alt programında kullanılmıştır.
Translation - English PSCAD/EMTDC includes a cable constants subroutine which computes the line parameters. However, due to the complex structure of high voltage underground cable systems and the limitations imposed by the existing cable models in the program, the cable system data should be converted to make them compatible with the cable constants subroutine. First of all, the physical and the geometrical data belonging to the underground cable system given in Table 1 have been appropriately converted in accordance with the criteria in [7]. The obtained data have been used in the cable constants subroutine within the PSCAD software as shown in figure 6.

Translation - English In the designed system, data coming from an FL output which includes the FL interface and the PIC16F877 were connected to a therapy device through a serial port. Thus, the monitoring of the therapy device was enabled through a serial port. The membership functions and rules base were decided on by a specialist. The appropriate reasoning mechanism was selected and realized by being written in the delphi program. Thus FLC was developed within the knowledge scope of a specialist. The designed FLC comprises of the Fuzzier and the Defuzzier sections. The Fuzzier and the Rule Base underwent the Defuzzier operation with appropriate decision mechanisms carried out by a specialist.

Translation - English In this study, the measurement of the primary current drawn by the welter is realized by the help of a linear Hall-effect sensor. The sensor should be placed at an air gap which is formed over the coil in order to detect the current. The primary coil may be composed of multiple turns as well as it can be used as only one winding (conductive element carrying the current directly passes through coil) (Figure 1), too, in cases when the current value was above 25 A. Due to the Hall-effect, the magnetic flux generated by the primary current in the toroid produces voltage proportional to the flux density at the ends of the sensor. [1,2,3].

Source text - Turkish Shigeta ve arkadaşları 38 Japanese hastada yaptıkları bir çalışmada yaş ve BMI in intervertebral disk volumu (IVD) ve orofharingeal airway üzerindeki etkisini incelemişlerdir. Sonuç olarak ifade etmişlerdir ki erkeklerde IVD volumu ve yüksekliği kadınlara oranla daha fazla olduğunu , yaşın volum ile önemli bir korelasyonu olmadığını bulmuşlardır. BMI erkeklerde 23.1±2.97 kadınlarda ise 21.6±4.03 olarak belirlemişler ve BMI ile intervertebraldisc volumu arasında dikkate değer ters bir korelasyon olduğunu (p< 0.0001), bmı ile yaş arasında ise pozitif bir korelasyonun olduğunu ifade etmişlerdir.(Shigeta et al., 2008). Benzer sonucu vertebral body volume ve bmi arasında biz de bulduk. Aynı zamanda BMI değerlerini ise biz erkeklerde 26.95 ± 2.90 kadınlarda ise 29.14 ± 3.37 hesap etmiştik. Ancak çalışmanın asıl amacı dışına çıkmadan bu bilgiyi sadece kendi ölçümlerimizi doğrulamak veya paralellik karşılaştırması için kullandık.
Translation - English Shigeta et al. studied the influence of age and BMI on intervertebral disc volume (IVD) and oropharyngeal airway in a study conducted on 38 Japanese patients. In conclusion, they stated that IVD volume and height were greater in men than in women and age was not significantly correlated with the volume. They set BMI to 23.1±2.97 in men and 21.6±4.03 in women, and reported a significant negative correlation (p< 0.0001) between BMI and intervertebral disc volume and a positive correlation between BMI and age (Shigeta et al., 2008). In the present study, a similar result was also observed in the relation between vertebral body volume and BMI. At the same time, BMI values were determined as 26.95 ± 2.90 and 29.14 ± 3.37 in men and women, respectively. However, this information was only used to verify the measurements and to make parallel comparisons within the scope of the study.

Although it is a widely observed type of cancer, it has a slow growth rate and when diagnosed at the early stages, the results of the treatment can be rather successful and the mortality rates can be reduced. There are various methods for the early diagnosis of breast cancer. Of these methods, breast self exam can be learned and applied by every woman and does not require much time or effort. Breast self-exam increases both women’s awareness on breast health and application rate to medical institutions when women realize a change in their breasts.

The differences could be attributed to different diet compositions used in these studies.

Antalya, iklimi dolayısıyla büyük bir fauna ve flora zenginliğine sahiptir. Bu zenginlik viruslar için potansiyel konukçular olan değişik yabancı otlar ve böceklere de yansımış durumdadır. Bu yüzden bu yabancı otlar ve böcek vektörler örtüaltında da virusların yayılma olanağını artırmaktadır. Translation - English Plant diseases are seen as an important factor which limits the productivity in many parts of the world where tomato is grown. At present, approximately 200 tomato diseases are known. Among these, viral diseases are especially important for their harms on tomato. From economic point of view, they are the most important disease types which can cause up to 100 percent of production loss. Today, more than 30 types of viral diseases are known, which . could easily spread with insects and nematode vectors mechanically, and also with infected seeds. Antalya has a rich fauna and flora thanks to its climatic conditions. This richness is also valid for insects and wild plants which are potential hosts to viruses. Therefore, wild plants and insect vectors increase the risk of virus spread in undercover production areas, as well. Since there is no effective control method and they could spread easily in the region, viruses cause great losses for greenhouse production. In this respect, viral diseases cause possibly the highest economic damage for tomato production both in Turkey and the world.
