According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), global economic prospects have improved, however the road to recovery in advanced economies remains erratic. In the major advanced economies, the IMF expects economic activity to gradually accelerate, following a weak start to 2013. In emerging market and developing economies, activity has already picked up steam.

Advanced economy policymakers have successfully defused two of the biggest threats to the global recovery, namely, a breakup of the eurozone and a sharp contraction in the US arising from the “fiscal cliff.” However, the IMF maintains that old dangers remain and new risks have come to the fore. In the short term, risks mainly relate to developments in the eurozone, including uncertainty about the fallout from events in Cyprus and politics in Italy, as well as vulnerabilities in the periphery.

According to the IMF, the key risks in the medium term, relate to adjustment fatigue, insufficient institutional reform, and prolonged stagnation in the eurozone as well as high fiscal deficits and debt in the United States and Japan. The IMF believes that in advanced economies, the right macroeconomic approach continues to be gradual, but sustained, fiscal adjustment built on measures that limit damage to activity, underpinned by monetary policy aimed at supporting internal demand. Secondo il Fondo Monetario Internazionale (FMI) le prospettive dell'economia mondiale danno segni di miglioramento, nonostante per le economie avanzate la strada verso la ripresa rimanga tuttora densa di incertezze. Nelle principali economie avanzate, il Fondo prevede una graduale accelerazione dell'attività economica dopo la debole partenza registrata nel 2013, mentre nei mercati emergenti e nelle economie in via di sviluppo la ripresa è già una realtà.

Per quanto riguarda economie avanzate, la politica è riuscita a disinnescare due dei principali rischi che minacciavano di compromettere la ripresa globale: la frantumazione dell'eurozona e una forte contrazione negli Stati Uniti come conseguenza del "fiscal cliff". Secondo l'FMI, comunque, i vecchi pericoli non sono scomparsi mentre nuovi ne appaiono all'orizzonte. Nel breve termine i rischi hanno a che fare principalmente con gli avvenimenti nell'eurozona, fra cui le incertezze sulle conseguenze dalla crisi cipriota e sulla situazione politica in Italia, oltre che con alcuni fattori di debolezza dei paesi periferici.

Per il medio termine, il Fondo teme che i principali fattori di rischio possano derivare da una perdita di slancio dell'azione di risanamento, da insufficienti riforme istituzionali e dal prolungarsi della stagnazione nell'eurozona, oltre che dal deficit e dall'elevato livello di indebitamento di Stati Uniti e Giappone. Overview of Java servlets

Servlets are protocol and platform independent server-side software components, written in Java. They run inside a Java enabled server or application server, such as the WebSphere Application Server.
Servlets are loaded and executed within the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) of the Web server or application server, in much the same way that applets are loaded and executed within the JVM of the Web client. Since servlets run inside the servers, however, they do not need a graphical user interface (GUI).
Servlets more closely resemble Common Gateway Interface (CGI) scripts or programs than applets in terms of functionality. As in CGI programs, servlets can respond to user events from an HTML request, and then dynamically construct an HTML response that is sent back to the client. 		Translation - Italian

Le servlet sono componenti software lato server indipendenti da ogni protocollo e piattaforma, scritte in Java. Esse vengono eseguite all'interno di un server o di un application server abilitati alla piattaforma Java, come WebSphere Application Server.
