Video-Downloads im Internet boomen – das wissen auch die Spyware-Hersteller. Immer öfter tauchen deshalb Webseiten auf, die User mit angeblichen Kinofilm-Downloads locken. Wer sich das Video anschauen will, muss dazu einen ebenfalls angebotenen Codec installieren.
Ähnlich wie bei „Rouge Anti-Spyware“, die sich als Spyware-Killer ausgibt, steckt hinter den Videotreibern jedoch keine legale Software, sondern hinterhältige Spyware.
Einmal installiert lässt sich die Software kaum mehr aus dem System entfernen. Die Hacker bedienen sich dazu eines Tricks: Mehrere Programme schützen sich gegenseitig. Wird der eine Prozess gekillt, startet ein andere Programm ihn kurzerhand neu –bis der User entnervt aufgibt.

Downloading videos from the internet is a booming business – a fact also known to the Spyware manufacturers. Hence one finds more and more websites attracting users with their so-called film downloads. To view the film one must install the offered Codec. There’s the catch!
Just like “Rouge Anti-Spyware“, which appears to be a Spyware-Killer, there is no legal software present in these Codecs but just hidden Spyware.
Once installed the software doesn’t leave the system easily. The hackers use a trick for that: Multiple programs guard each other simultaneously. If one program is killed another program starts shortly – till the user finally gives up in despair.
