I am Alejandra Villanueva and was born in Río Grande in Tierra del Fuego, which is the southernmost province of Argentina.

I moved to Córdoba when I was 18 years old to study English translation at the Faculty of Languages of the University of Córdoba. The university is recognised for having one of the highest academic levels in Latin America.

In 2003, I participated in a work-study program in the United States. I spent a year in the country and during my stay I studied Political Science at Otterbein College, Westerville - Ohio. I also participated in a Gestalt Therapy Congress in Ohio where I worked as a simultaneous interpreter, translating both from English into Spanish and Spanish into English. It was a very rewarding experience and my first as an interpreter.

In 2004 I joined Apex America in Córdoba, which is owned by the Sykes Company. As part of my role I worked on the Verizon-MCI account for more than 3 years, providing service support to American customers and handling back office documents from departments all over the world.

In 2005 I started exploring the world of freelance translation. It was hard at the beginning but then some opportunities came out and I love the part of exploring and learning new technologies, studies, among other things. I particularly enjoy translating because it feels like a bridge between two cultures.
