Teaching abroad. ...First, in jest, I almost wrote down 40 years experience because that is my age, and those are the years I have spent going back and forth in my head and in airplanes between my two languages, Spanish and English, and being interested in other languages as well. I have translated documents and letters before, but I’m not about to attempt enhancing my curriculum by making it sound it is my main profession. I am an artist, and as such my main concern and focus is in transferring the fluid and comfortable way in which something is normally heard. I love capturing the idiomatic essence of the expression; therefore my forte is understanding the context at hand. For that reason I specialize in translating from American English to Argentine Spanish and vise-versa. However, this said, I’m humbled by the caliber of translators at Proz.com, and I can only hope to not look too un-professional in their comparison.

My degree is in Architecture. Yet, I'm bilingual English/Spanish from birth, I have done translation work before, I tought many years while I lived in Europe and I seem to have “some” innate talent in linguistics which I'm sure pales in comparison to the professionalism I find in this site. I’m sure that in time and with the experience brought by working with Proz.com I will get better at it in every aspect.
One of the advantages of living in Argentina right now, is the huge difference in the value of it's currency with the rest of the world. I can translate a document for roughly half of what it would cost locally in most places.
