I am a native Greek speaker who grew up with English as a second language, since my family own an Institute of foreign languages ("Omiros") in the southern Athenian suburb of Glyfada, since 1969 and are English teachers themselves.So,learning and using foreign languages was always encouraged.
I acquired the Cambridge Proficiency in English (CPE) at the age of 17 and the Certificat de Langue Francaise (equivelant to the Cambridge First Certificate in English) at the age of 16.Furthermore, I acquired a teaching licence and begun to teach at the age of twenty.At the same time I started studying Psychology in the American College of Greece (Deree),from where I graduated in 1999 getting a B.A in the field mentioned above.As a University student, I firstly got involved with translations and made a couple of medical articles as much as contracts.I also wrote and published online - at: www.stadio.gr- a few articles on Athletic Psychology.
Having studied Psychology,I begun teaching English not only in our Institute classes but also working on a personal basis with students who are characterized by Attention Deficit Disorder and /or dyslexia.
Currently,I have temporarily moved for personal reasons in Frankfurt, Germany,where I am attending daily,intensive courses in German with the purpose of sitting the C1( Wirtschaftsdeutsch International Zertificat) Exam at the end of 2009.Apart from attending the lessons and studying, there is enough time left for translations and this is the reason why I registered myself - after good recommendations- in Proz.com.
I'm looking forward to undertaking and successfully handing in your translated material.I am willing and am capable of translating every kind of document or article, related to medicine(have had two semesters studying Biology in University) or psychosocial sciences and not only.Interior Design and decoration have been a hobby for years and besides the actual practice of them,I am reading a fairly big amount of English books on the subject.
