I've been living in Spain for the greater part of 40 years and spent a lot of those years teaching English and translating, at some point or another, virtually every possible genre (some of those specialised technical translations can be a real bitch!) I had my own translation agency in Madrid, Bureau Internacional de Servicios SL, for many years but closed it down after a great job offer by a multinational who wanted me to set up for them and run their branch for them in Nigeria. A couple of years ago I went back to freelance translation - no more giving English classes as it pays LESS than it did back in the late 70's if you compare the cost of living etc. then with today's!
