I am bilingual and I therefore translate from English to French and French to English.
I have a degree in Modern Languages and Communication/Business, with a specialisation in Translation. My two main languages are English and Italian. I am fluent in Italian and am familiar with Italian culture as I often go to Italy.
I am specialised in touristic, cultural and business translations. I have a passion for art (especially theatre and cinema) and would like to specialize in that field too. I am also open to other proposals, especially in touristic, business, economics, telecommunications and general areas, in which I have worked as a translator.
I have translated touristic brochures and business documents, both at University and through various placements and jobs, as well as a dissertation on "Regional cooperation in the Asia- Pacific" for a Chinese client. I have also translated documents in the culinary, architectural, medical, pharmaceutical, fashion and literary fields.
I have done transcriptions of videos as well as consecutive interpretation at University (such as the news or documentaries).
I haved lived several years in Scotland and worked in various fields (both in France and Scotland) and I can therefore adapt to different types of vocabulary.I like reading and watching films in English and Italian, which makes me familiar with colloquial vocabulary.
My last project was the translation of a website from French to English for a French company specialised in free games on the Internet (scratch tickets, thinking games, jackpot games, etc). It was a diverse and technical translation job as I translated game rules, presentation of the games, general conditions of sale, messages for players, as well as news. |
