I am a Norwegian freelance translator, living in London. I have been a UK resident for almost 13 years, when I moved here to study. Because of this, I have the advantage of a native understanding of terms and phrases mostly found in informal English, in addition to near perfect grammar and spelling.
I live with my partner, who is also Norwegian, and have always had Norwegian friends around, which means none of my native language skills have faded over the years.
At the moment I am taking on an increasing variety of jobs, although the main bulk of my regular work is for the major European TV company, Viasat, for whom I translate film- and TV summaries and web site contents. The fact that I have recently taken over translation responsibilities for yet another of their channels, after they terminated the contract with their previous translator, underlines the quality and dependability of my work.
In addition, I frequently translate (t) and proof read (p) the following types of documents:
Market research (t) & (p)
Financial documents (p)
Computer games (t) & (p)
Web site contents (t) & (p)
Former and recurring clients include Ford, Disney, Sony, RR Donnelly, Park Communications, TNS, UGAM Solutions
I am currently writing, and always reading, books in both English and Norwegian, which also demonstrates that I am very comfortable with both languages. |
