Source text - Japanese 一般にもし企業の資金繰り難が一般的なものであり、危機を乗り切ることができれば将来高い企業価値を実現できる見通しがあるならば、債権者は企業を救済することによって将来利益を得ることができる。しかし、倒産を恐れた債権者が自分の債権だけは早めに保全としようとして予防的な債権の回収に動けば、本来再生するのが望ましい企業まで資金繰りに行き詰まり倒産に追い込まれる可能性がある。そのような事態を避けて企業を救済するためには、債権者が互いに協調して行動し、予防的な債権の回収を自重することが非常に重要になる。メインバンクによる資金援助や関係者間の利害調停などの救済努力は、他の債権者の協調的な行動を促し、経営危機に陥った企業が資金を引き揚げられていっそう窮地に追い込まれるのに歯止めをかける効果を持つ。つまり、メインバンク関係は、一般的に資金繰りが悪化した企業の資金制約を緩和し、非効率的な企業生産を避けるうえで重要な役割を果たしてると考えられてきた。	Translation - English Generally, creditors could profit by lending help and support to a firm with temporary cash flow difficulty as long as there are prospects for the firm to ride out the crisis and realize its potential future value. However, since creditors fear default and are likely to take early preventive measures to secure their receivables by requesting payment, even firms with the potential to turn around could be driven into bankruptcy. It is vital for creditors to reevaluate their preventative policy of debt recovery and cooperate with each other to prop up the troubled firm. Coordinated actions with creditors to provide relief efforts such as financial assistance from main financing bank and reconciliation with stakeholders could help financially distraught firms to secure capital and stave off the crisis. In other words, it was thought that principal financing bank plays an important role to ease the constraints of temporarily financially distraught firm and prevent unproductive corporate bankruptcy.
