Through my language studies at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate level, I have achieved near-native fluency in French and German, as well as an intermediate knowledge of Dutch and Italian. Having gained a 2.1 in French and German from Cambridge University in 2010, I graduated with Distinction in an MA in Translation with Language Technology in 2012 from Swansea University. I am now putting my translation skills and qualifications into practice, and am currently starting out as a translator. A Graduate Affiliate member of the ITI, my most recent translation experience includes a 5-week internship with the Universal Postal Union in Berne, Switzerland, in summer 2012, working with the French translation unit and, from August 2013, I will be completing a translation internship with Allianz in Munich.
I am a highly motivated and hard-working individual, with a real passion for translation, which is reflected in my work. I always pay great attention to detail, and fully immerse myself into all my work. My time at university enabled me to hone my time-management skills, and so I am always able to manage my workload efficiently in order to meet all deadlines.
I have a range of interests, and try to reflect these in the translations I complete. As well as freelance work, I am also happy to undertake pro bono work for charitable or other not-for-profit organisations.
