Italian to English: Turismo: come app e algoritmi intelligenti cambiano i nostri viaggi? Detailed field: Tourism & Travel
Source text - Italian Il turismo è cambiato.
Translation - English Tourism has changed. The world of travel is evolving at breakneck speed like never before. Until just a few years ago, this change was driven by the arrival of the web and sites that help less experienced holidaymakers plan their travel arrangements. Now the situation is shifting again thanks to the widespread availability of mobile devices.
The use of highly sophisticated mathematical algorithms has gradually helped transform the way consumers pick their holidays, allowing travel promoters to draw on a vast array of data and purchasing preferences to create increasingly personalised holiday deals capable of winning over even the most discerning of travellers. The travel industry has become closely intertwined with the world of technology, particularly mobile apps, and this demonstrates how the growing use of smart devices has changed consumers’ preferences and the way they buy their holiday packages.
According to a study carried out by Cisco in preparation for the upcoming February 2015 edition of the Travel Technology Europe trade show, a conference specialising in technology and online marketing for tourism industry insiders (travel agents, tour operators and transport companies), 71% of professionals working in the world of travel say that they maintain a constant presence on sites like Facebook and Twitter, which they now consider “essential” for their business.

Years of experience: 7. Registered at ProZ.com: Aug 2018.
My watchword when translating is style. I aim to make my translations a real pleasure to read, with well-crafted syntax and appropriate vocabulary.
My specialist areas are business, marketing and travel & tourism (a personal passion of mine). I research every job extensively and am always happy to keep learning and expanding my knowledge, so different subject areas are no problem for me – feel free to get in touch with more details.
I graduated from the University of Cambridge with a degree in Modern Languages in 2012. I have studied abroad in Milan and have also lived in Rome, where I worked in-house for a translation agency. I have several years' experience in the language industry as a project manager, which gives me a very useful insight into exactly what clients are looking for in a translation (and a translator). I therefore tailor my approach to offer the best quality possible with minimum fuss.
I am a qualified member of the UK Institute for Translation and Interpreting (ITI) for Italian to English, and my directory listing can be found here: https://www.iti.org.uk/directory/translator/mr-daniel-spencer.html
