Source text - English I let my fingers run through my short hair and give it a good tousle before I get ready.
I put on my big scarf and button my coat, then swiftly walk down the street towards the restaurant where she's waiting for me.

he sits at a small table by the window, waving at me when I enter.
Her wide smile stays in place for a long time as she tries to keep my gaze locked onto hers.
I smile back, but quickly let my eyes focus on my gloves, my scarf and my coat.
“I'm sorry, I have to take this,” she says apologetically while pointing to her phone.
“I've been waiting for him to call me back.”
I nod and walk towards the wardrobe.
When I make my way back to the table, she's still talking.
I stop and observe her gesturing.
She uses hand movements to accentuate her talking points, and how she feels about them.
She smiles, even while talking on the phone.
Her short, dark, bobbed hair is cut very precisely, with very short hair in the front.
The bob hits her jawline.
Her suit is tailor-made, cut just right to accentuate her body subtly and elegantly.
Her lips are contoured with a red pencil.
She shoots me another wide smile and tries to capture my gaze.
I look down at my shoes and the floor in front of me, discreetly stepping over a small piece of lettuce that the waiter has dropped, as I move towards the table.
Sometimes she's late for our lunch appointments, in case she’s had to take a call, or something else has happened that’s required her immediate attention.
Then I’m the one waiting at the table, for a glimpse of short dark hair and that wide smile.
In those situations, I’d know when she’s entered the restaurant.
There’d be a certain shift in atmosphere, and I would feel heads turning and looks that for only a second drifted away from the plates on the tables.
I’d hear the sound of her stiletto heels as she moved around the restaurant.
The clicking of the heels would echo, and all other noise would grow dimmer.
Conversations would halt, the cutlery would be silent, and the chefs would stop calling out orders.
“I'm sorry about that,” she says as she hangs up.
“No problem at all,” I say, tousling my hair.
“So, how's it going?”
I ask and take a sip of the glass of wine she has ordered for me.
She talks about someone she met.
We laugh and sip our wine.
I badly want to tell her about Owen.
I lean across the table, as if we were little girls telling each other our deepest secrets.
I clear my throat and build up the tension.
I think about the muscles moving underneath his skin like a big animal.
I think about the tattooed letters on his arms and legs, and suddenly I can't work out how to express myself.
“Won't be a moment, I just need the restroom,” I say, then stand up and walk through the restaurant.
The sound of cutlery is everywhere, and the chefs call out orders to the waiters through the hatches to the kitchen.
