HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF
- Keep in mind that your management team will never ask you to execute payment which does not follow the right procedures
- Respect the different responsibilities:
- If you own the rights to make significant payments alone, you are at risk. Talk to your manager (no one should possess the three powers of: creation of third-party account, input of transfer and validation).
- Avoid orders and validations by fax: it is easy for scammers to obtain specimen signatures.
- The means of validation are personal: never entrust them to a colleague, and if a colleague tells you his own, refuse to use it.
- Make common sense checks:
- Check email addresses: fraudsters sometimes use similar email addresses (for example: [email protected] instead of [email protected]).
- Check the identity of your contact by re-contacting them with trustworthy addresses (not those communicated by the contact).
INDICES THAT MUST ALERT YOU
- An email mentioning business purchase, tax audit, etc.
- The call of a business lawyer, legal counsel, auditor, policeman, etc.
- The urgency of the situation (acquisition, tax audit, etc.).
- Secrecy and confidentiality ("Do not say it to anyone else. Here’s a phone number to encrypt our conversations…”)
- Flattery (“I was told that I could count on you…”)
- Intimidation (“You got what I tell you?! It's urgent!”)

HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF
-When receiving an email
- Do you know the sender? Does his address seem usual? Did you expect this email? Is the object or message unusual?
- If in doubt, do not open any attachments or links.
- It may happen that a fraudulent email emanates from one of your usual contacts if his PC account was infected. If in doubt, contact him.
- If you open an attachment received by email
- Do it on your PC protected by an antivirus, not your smartphone or your private PC (often lacking antivirus).
- Above all, do not allow the execution of macros.
- Protect your IT installations
- Update the operating system and antivirus everyday.
- Restrict software installation rights to administrators.
- Do not allow automatic macro execution and opening automatically attachments.
- Block USB keys and document sharing sites.
- Set up correctly your firewall .
- Filter attachments containing Visual Basic code (macros).
- If possible, segment your computer network.

- Lembre-se de que sua diretoria nunca solicitará que você execute pagamentos que não sigam os procedimentos corretos
- Fique atento às suas responsabilidades:
- Se você possui o acesso para efetuar grandes pagamentos sozinho, você está em risco. Converse com seu gerente (ninguém deve possuir os três poderes a seguir: criação de uma conta de terceiros, criação de um pagamento e validação/aprovação de pagamento).
- Evite realizar qualquer transação financeira por fax: é fácil para alguém copiar as assinaturas enviadas dessa maneira.
- Os acessos para validação/aprovação de pagamentos são pessoais: nunca os confie a um colega e, se um colega tentar lhe informar o próprio acesso, recuse.
- Use sempre o bom senso:
- Verifique os endereços de e-mail: fraudes às vezes usam endereços de e-mail semelhantes (por exemplo: [email protected] no lugar de [email protected]).
- Verifique a identidade das pessoas, entrando novamente em contato através de canais confiáveis (não com os comunicados pelo e-mail suspeito).
FIQUE ALERTA AOS SINAIS
- E-mails mencionando compra de empresas, auditoria fiscal, etc.
- Ligação de um advogado de negócios, assessoria jurídica, auditor, policial, etc.
- Solicitação com urgência (aquisição de empresa, auditoria fiscal, etc.).
- Segredo e confidencialidade ("Não diga a mais ninguém. Aqui está um número de telefone para criptografar nossas conversas ...")
- Elogios ("Me disseram que eu poderia contar com sua ajuda...")
- Intimidação ("Você entendeu o que eu disse?! É urgente!")

COMO SE PROTEGER
- Ao receber um email:
- Você conhece o remetente? O endereço de e-mail parece normal?
- Você esperava este e-mail? O objeto ou a mensagem são incomuns?
- Em caso de dúvida, não abra anexos ou links.
- Um e-mail fraudulento pode acabar vindo de um de seus contatos, caso o Computador dele estiver infectado. Em caso de dúvidas, entre em contato com ele através de canais confiáveis (não com os comunicados pelo e-mail suspeito).
- Se você abrir um anexo recebido por e-mail:
- Faça isso no seu PC protegido por um antivírus, não no seu smartphone ou no seu PC particular (geralmente sem antivírus).
- Acima de tudo, não permita a execução de macros.
- Proteja suas instalações e a estrutura de TI:
- Atualize o sistema operacional e o antivírus todos os dias.
- Restrinja os direitos de instalação de software a administradores.
- Não permita a execução automática de macro e a abertura automática de anexos.
- Bloqueie as entradas de USB e sites de compartilhamento de documentos.
- Configure corretamente seu firewall.
- Filtre anexos contendo código do Visual Basic (macros).
- Se possível, segmente sua rede de computadores.
FIQUE ALERTA AOS SINAIS
- Qualquer e-mail de um remetente desconhecido com um link ou anexo.
- Qualquer e-mail com um Assunto ou Conteúdo inesperado.
- Qualquer anexo enviado por e-mail contendo uma macro.

Bio
I am a freelance translator since 2019 with practical experience in my fields. I will use my background in accounting, finance and risks to deliver quality and accuracy. I am well versed in technical and specific terms, with a broad range of translation experiences.
I worked with finance and auditing for 11 years, using English and Portuguese on a daily basis. The translation started as a task in some projects until it became the best part of the job.
I first started to help with reports in portuguese that needed to be sent abroad (PTBR >EN). My work was recognized and more opportunities came. Before I knew it, I was sent to a client with no english speakers and a team of consultants from Denmark, with no understanding of portuguese. For a month I was responsible for the translation of all kinds of reports, from english to portuguese and portuguese to english, as well as leading all communication between client and the advisory team. After that, I actively searched projects where I could translate. Through that time I translated:
