Source text - English Electronic stability control (ESC) enhances the car’s performance, handling and stability in difficult driving situations and can help you stay in control.
The system is enabled automatically each time the engine is started and should generally be left switched on at all times.
Electronic stability control is a group of systems that incorporates stability control (FZR), a traction control system (ASR), an anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake pressure distribution (EBD), engine drag torque control (MSR) and hydraulic brake assistance (HBA).
These systems are described in more detail later in this chapter.
The ESC system, using an array of sensors throughout the car, constantly monitors driver inputs (made via the steering wheel, brake and accelerator pedals and the gear shift) and compares them to the car’s response.
