Schedule:This session ended at 12:40
Description:

Have you ever wondered why something in memoQ works the way it does? Do you have a technical question about some aspect of memoQ, or about how memoQ is developed and delivered to you? Meet the leaders of the memoQ development team in this session for lively technical discussions.

Here's your opportunity to ask those things you've always wanted to know, and get answers from the experts.

Submit questions for the panel ahead of time at the top of this page.

Language(s):English
Speakers:Gergely Vándor
Gergely Vándor has more than ten years of localization industry experience. He started his career as a translator and software localizer at Moravia, where he quickly became a language lead. Later on he gravitated towards the technical aspects of translation, and after spending a short time as a translation technology consultant he landed at Kilgray, where he holds the title of Lifecycle Manager. For the most part, he is involved with practical interoperability matters, software releases and quality assurance, and maintaining some of the document filters. He has also had some contributions to the design and, occasionally, the code of the memoQ translation environment and other Kilgray products.
Gábor Ugray — Moderator
Gábor is the head of development, but you’d hardly dare to call him a geek. Besides his mother tongue Hungarian he speaks a fluent English, German, Spanish and some Dutch and Chinese as well. He translated many thousands of pages as a freelance translator and he also wrote a machine translation engine for MorphoLogic. He’s got a lot of experience with language technology - not only the statistical technology language-independent translation tools are using but also rule-based language specific technologies -, and his mantra is software ergonomics. Besides managing a team of over ten developers, he remains involved in the program code: during specification he carefully designs the user interface and during testing he identifies and fixes any performance bottlenecks.
Márton Horváth
Márton has been working for Kilgray since 2010, first as a support engineer, and he recently assumed the mantle of Support Manager. As such, he is working hard to make the experience of users a pleasant one, should they ever need to ask for help. In his spare time he likes playing MMORPG-s and inventing horrible jokes.
