Translation requires a great deal more that merely knowing the source and target languages. To produce a clear and accurate translation, the translator should have a deep understanding of the subject matter that he is translating. Likewise, the style that the translator uses should reflect the type of material that is being translated.

In order to further my skills, I spend a portion of my time reading a variety of subjects in order to develop understanding of new subjects, refresh my memory of old subjects, or just to benefit from various writing styles.
