المشكلة اليوم هي الاصطفاف الحاصل في لبنان
This is الاصطفاف in the political sense of everyone taking a side in a conflict.
I can't think of a smooth English equivalent...lining-up? taking sides?
ِAnother example:
"كما بات معروفا، حزب سياسي اخذ قرار الحرب وألزم الآخرين به. اما النقطة الثانية فهي دور لبنان، نحن لسنا فريقا في الصراعات الاقليمية الدائرة حاليا، ونرفض اصطفاف لبنان على قاعدة المحاور الاقليمية القائمة، بل نحن نؤمن بأن السياسة اللبنانية يقررها اللبنانيون انفسهم، والعلاقات التي يرغبون في اقامتها او بنائها مع العالم يبنيها اللبنانيون، والكلام ان هناك اناسا مع ايران وآخرين مع الاميركيين هو كلام غير دقيق على الاطلاق
