French term

saisie d'une demande

French to English Bus/Financial Law (general)
Hi

Please could you help with the following.

In a document about a contractual dispute:
"Le JJ/MM/AAAA XX est saisie par ZZ d'une demande de prorogation de la garantie..."
Where XX and ZZ are the banks of the contractual parties.

My suggestion: "On DD/MM/YYYY, ZZ issued a demand/claim to XX for an extension to the guarantee..."

Does anyone have anything better?
Thank you

neutral mimi 254 : I think ZZ referred a request to XX and not that XX claim was referred by ZZ to certaintly a 3rd party

file a claim AGAINST someone.
Note from asker:
Wouldn't you file a claim with the authorities against someone rather than filing a claim with that someone?
