ECG results
This abbreviation appears in a report of a patient who was hospitalized for chest pain and received coronary angioplasty + stent implants. The discharge summary ECG report says:
"L'ECG alla dimissione e caratterizzato da ritmo sinusale, normale conduzione a-v, EAS, esiti di necrosi laterale-alta in III s.e.
What do the letters "s.e." stand for here, and how do we say it in English? And I'm assuming that III refers to an ECG lead, yes?

Yes, I think that the III refers to lead III. If there is a full transmural infarct, you would expect to see Q-waves in II and aVF as well, i.e. the other inferior leads, but here it seems there is evidence to be gleaned only from this single lead. This topic has been discussed before and I will attach the URL.
