Spanish term

posición finta

I don't see the feint or fake position mentioned in physiotherapy - is there something else it might be called?

Thanks,
Juliette

Discussion

neilmac Jun 8, 2016:
As lugoben notes, this refers to the position of the physio when steadying the patient, and not the position of the patient per se, as I initially assumed. In Judo, this is known as a "feint position" (1 foot on the floor, leg straight and the other leg raised, bent at the knee). I now think his suggestion (standing position) is the clearest option so far.

agree neilmac : This is correct. The physio is standing on one leg with his/her knee raised to steady the patient

position with one knee bent and the other straight

one knee is flexed and the other extended. Incidentally, in Anatomy it is a joint that is flexed or extended, not the limb.
Peer comment(s):

agree neilmac : Turns out it's not the patient's position, but the medic's... But this is still good.

Thanks Neil. However, I did want to clarify it was joint rather than limb
