Thanks to everyone KudozNet sent this out before I realised it had done so!! It also found the answer on another website.

The term came up in a proofreading job I do for a friend - officially it is only English proofreading, but the friend is Dutch and puts the odd Dutch word in when she doesn't know the English herself...
