"sloped tile roof" ? Of course to describe it you can use "sloped" but from technical point of view all types of roofs are sloped even the flat roof and this is as per the building codes. Maybe you can use tiled roof instead.

Something worth to mentioned in this regard is that translating the Arabic term سطح المبنى او السطح او سطح المنزل into English as "roof" is actually wrong. The typical Arabic buildings, houses and villas have سطح called in English flat roof terrace or roof terrace or in short terrace . While western building roof is actually just سقف المنزل او سقف البيت او سقف البناية. In your text ثكنة is much closer to سقيفة which means shed roof.

"tile awning" is just another type of canopies. Your text is talking about the "Built up Area (BUA)". حساب معدل الاستثمار السطحي = calculating the ratio of floor space occupation (investment) which means in English = built up area .

So it is the shed they are talking about in my opinion to exclude from this municipality instruction. Meaning sheds whether on the roof terrace or in the front yards or back yards are allowed and is not calculated within the built up areas.
