"There is a saying that the comforter's head never aches, the ironic justice of which many a friend and mother will recognise. The comforters, as a rule, are not given to advertising their own aching hours. They are deep bays that even at ebb tide show no mud banks to the sun.
There are friends of imperturbable good temper and unvarying helpfulness about whom we never stop to ask whether they themselves have moods. It may not be possible to comfort the comforters, but we may all consider and not impose upon them, and in that consideration and self-restraint, perhaps make some progress upward toward that higher rank of comforters, who are the salt of the earth." Note from asker:
Veja comentário no DB. |

Obrigado, mas essa não vai servir. O sentido não é o mesmo. Além disso, já tenho esta expressão no dicionário, traduzida como "Everything is funny as long as it is happening to somebody else". |

Discussion
The comforter's head never aches.
Consolar é aliviar a dor. (78 resultados no Google) https://rb.gy/g95ik
